There I was ... grassy hilltop, bad guys coming from the left, muggly-uglies coming from the right, just me, my sword, and an IV drip of healing potion. It took awhile, but I convinced them all that today was not a good day for my character to die. Now for the looting ... hmm, where is that neon colored armor? That would look good on display. That staff firing the thermonuclear fire balls would be nice ... wonder where that got to? All this tall grass, need a lawn mower, needed it mowed before the battle. Oh bugger, tall grass all the way down the hill ... waaay down the hill and into the valley. Argg!! I have loans that need to be paid! Those healing potions add up! Need something like "Detect Life" except that it detects loot. Sword laying in the grass? Detect Loot makes the sword glow. Scrolls in a really dead undead body that is underwater? Detect Loot makes the body glow. Empty body? No glow. Mix Detect Life and Detect Loot together? Groovy man, listen to the pretty colors ... :-) Could be a potion, a ring, a spell, etc.. |

I turned off my grass length many many years ago. I like playing on a golf course. |

That's one thing that Skyrim improved on-- when you kill an enemy and loot the corpse, any items they happened to drop will be automatically looted as well, without the need to search for them wherever they may have rolled away or fallen to. |
