Sorry for the subject, but I am easily entertained. And this would thrill Gir.
At the TESO section of PAX they are giving out cards, each of which has a special code (are there ever non-special codes?). Redeem the special code and get a ... piggy. Yes, another type of pet to follow you around, secretly recording all of your failures and mishaps.
OK, hopefully not that last bit. But it's a good looking little critter, about the size of the long-ago trendy Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pig, though a bit slimmer. I'm sure if most of us had to follow someone who was always on the run, and had short legs, we would be a bit slimmer as well.

Yep, "Bristlegut Piglets". They were available at QuakeCon as well.
