Post subject: | Persistent Spells |
I've been searching through various magic mods but haven't found any that seem to do what I want, though I may have missed them or am simply looking for the wrong things. Basically what I'm looking for is a mod that allows me to use persistent spells, so basically instead of spending magicka to use Oakflesh for 60 seconds, I might spend less magicka but take a penalty to magicka regeneration to keep the spell active, or alternative the Dragon Age style whereby a persistent spell removes a chunk of your magicka bar until you turn it off; e.g - if you have 200 magicka and use a 40 magicka persistent spell then your magicka wouldn't recover to higher than 160 until you turn off the spell. It seems like something easy enough to do, as with these kinds of spells there isn't much benefit to starting then cancelling the spell, so it could simply be tweaked such that you tap to use normally, or hold to make it persistent. "Casting" again while the spell is active would cancel it instead, allowing your magicka to recover normally. Spells like invisibility are a bit of a grey area, though they could always just persist until you interrupt them, without auto re-casting. Also, with a lot of the spells that could do with having a persistent option, they may also be better changed into powers as this way it'd be possible to just use them without swapping spells around. So ehm, does anyone know of any mods that do this or something similar? |

Well this mod may be what your looking for: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13450 Not having Skyrim on PC myself I'm don't know many mods for it, but that seems to do what you want. |

That looks very close, I didn't think to try "sustained" in my searches *facepalms*! It's a slightly weird way of implementing it though, I might take a look at implementing it myself if this is the only mod so far. |
