Discussion thread!

Sun Nov 01, 2009 7:58 pm

Welcome to our 4th anniversary :D Hope you are all pleased with our plans!

We have locked all other threads so things don't turn into a mess, but of course you'll all want your own area to sing and dance and shout about things. So, this thread is for your own use to discuss anything about the upcoming events!

Sounds like a dandy idea! I might write a story...

Will the winning images/stories be visible to the rest of the community at some point? I would enjoy seeing the font of creativity present on our fine forum.

Absolutely! We'll post all winners on the anniversary itself.

Maybe instead of just winners you could post all the ones that were sent in but in order from 1st to last, and maybe if someone doesn't want their work public (for one reason or another) you could replace their name with [anyomous]

We will not publish all works here, only the winning ones. Anyone may publish their work for themselves afterwards, in a special thread we will create later.

Cactus, you know I hate you, right?

I FEEL NAKED WITHOUT MY WINDOWS FD!

(I'm an idiot... I posted this before in the other thread, thinking it was the discussion thread...)

2 things:

Can we make an entry in each competition?

Do screenshots in Oblivion count as art?

yes and yes ;)

How strictly do the writings have to follow the Lore/history of TES? Would fanfics, alternate histories, or ideas for the future of the universe be acceptable?

Basically any image counts for the art competition, as long as you made it yourself, of course.
Your other question is listed/answered in the rules for each competition you silly sod.

@Dlarsh:
They don't have to be accurate at all, they just have to be related. A Halo 3 facfiction or a generic fantasy story doesn't count, it has to be TES. They won't be judged for accuracy.

I'm planning to enter. Won't divulge which competition.

Are the moderators allowed to participate as well?

Re: Discussion thread!

Sun Nov 01, 2009 8:33 pm

Does the stories have to be based on the gameplay style? Such as killing things doesn't leave a scar (for some reason) or can you slash at a goblin and you actually leave a bleeding wound? I won't be too graphic don't worry  just heads dropping off with blood squirting everywhere ^^ (I'm kidding)

But that'd be cheating! :p

Re: Discussion thread!

Considering we're judging, I'd say it's probably a no.

as said before via pm: as long as it's tes-related and within forum rules (family friendly forum and all that) we'll accept it.

Also, can I submit a 1024 x 768 image? If I resize it to 1000 x 1000, it will get deformed :(

Plus, 1000*1000=1,000,000 pixels, while 1024*768=786,432 pixels

That's the maximum size, not the required size. Submit it as a 1000 x 750
