You made that yourself? So creative!

This thread is for talking about clothes. Is there a certain type of jacket you like? Or how about showing us your new shoes you love? Here is the place talk about your taste in fashion.

I love spectator shoes, and two-tone shoes in general. Sadly, few companies make round/classic toe spectator shoes. Many seem to have a clownishly long toe, while others are as pointy as a knife. Only a few have a round toe. However, many spectator shoes with round toes are made from suede, or have colors which are just wrong. To me, that makes no sense. Why make the crazy spectator shoes, when there is a lack of normal ones. Few have the classic brown and white, or black and white.

In general, I dress in the 1930's/1940's/1950's style. I wear white button down shirts, khaki pleated slacks, suspenders, and a wide necktie (which I made). When I leave the house, I wear a classic fit plaid houndstooth sport coat and a wide brimmed Brown Fedora. Sometimes in the summer, I wear a panama hat. I wear a pair of prescription browline glasses.

I like to wear casual and practical gender-neutral clothing. So usually I wear things like jeans, t-shirts, hoodies/jumpers, coats/jackets. I have a black overcoat that I quite like. Also I wear a wristwatch, yeah people still wear those. I could just use my phone but I like how it looks and sometimes you can't use your phone and it is quicker to look at your wrist. Then I wear a suit for formal occasions.

Personally I like slip on shoes. They're nice and much more convenient than laces.

Oh and in regards to underwear boxers are better than briefs.

Kerr knows where it's at: specifically the above, but everything else is the same. Except wristwatches, who still wears wristwatches?

Yeah, I only started wearing one for school. I'll probably stop eventually.

Strangely I only wear it when I'm going out, I never wear my watch at home.

In fairness there's a few lads (like two) in my year who bought really expensive wristwatches for going out (on nights out). It seems like such a waste to me.

But I suppose you bought it for practicality so that's better.

I wear a wristwatch sometimes, as I hardly ever have my phone on and its in my bag.

Why are they called spectator shoes? What do people watch when they're wearing them? (in the olde days)

As I don't have a phone, I always wear a watch. It's a $9.99 Waltham watch from CVS, and I am perfectly fine with it. Even if I had a phone, I would still rely on my watch to tell time.

Why would I need one? I fail to see the point of them. Why would you need to call someone when you are out? Car broken down? Just go to a call box. I also dislike having lots of computerized things. It's rather creepy carrying around what is basically a tracking device. Google is always watching.

I use my phone for a lot more things than calling: texting, using the internet, listening to music and playing games (Pokemon), primarily. I actually barely use it for calls now than I think about it.

Though, each to their own I guess: I suppose if you don't feel you're going to get use out of it then don't bother.

Yeah, phones are useful for much more than calling people.

I find it ironic that you are using a computer to access the internet to complain about computers.

They were originally designed as cricket shoes by John Lobb in 1868. However, they didn't catch on until the 1920's.

Except that I wouldn't use the other features either. I can use a computer to do those things. Personally I prefer computers. I don't really like phones. I would get a cell phone if it was just a phone. No extra features. No texting. No camera. No games. No internet. No touch screen. Just a phone with buttons to call. No screen either.

I LIKE SHORTS! THEY'RE COMFY AND EASY TO WEAR!

As far as fashion goes, my absolute favorite piece of clothing is the peacoat. Love double-breasted jackets and stuff but peacoats are my absolute favorite. I got one this past Christmas and I wear it as much as I can; though I can't anymore since Spring is setting in.

I know those pants are a fashion crime but I rocked them erry day until they no longer fit.

That's closer to what I'm gunning for this summer in terms of colours and general direction, though I lack the physique, sadly.

There are double-breasted sport coats too. They are usually made for wear year round. I got one once for $30 from Paul Fredrick. They have some good deals on clearance items.

Here is my wardrobe. I never wear the black pants, but I did in 2012. My favorite pants are Dockers relaxed fit pleated slacks, but I only have one pair at the moment. I only wear my suspenders with my Dockers pants, because they have a higher waist (which I prefer). The jacket you see on the far left is my newest Sport Coat. I got it from Kohl's. The next one is a Lands End Fall/Winter Sport Coat. The next jacket is my double-breasted sport coat. The sharkskin suit you see on the far right I only wear to parties. The necktie you see me wearing in these pictures is the one I made. I modeled it after Bold Look ties from the late 1940's and early 1950's.

My Closet.

I wear my sport coats when I leave the house. I don't wear them when I play golf, as it is difficult to swing golf clubs in a jacket. I always wear a fedora when I leave home too, either a brown fedora, or a Panama.

Just wondering, is your overcoat double breasted, or single breasted. I have been looking for a camel (I always wear brown/khaki) color double breasted overcoat. Like the ones you see in movies from the 1940's. I have searched Amazon, but the only ones they have are either big and tall, or slim fit (I personally dislike slim fit, as they are very uncomfortable).

It's single breasted. I think single breasted is nicer myself.

I recently purchased these spectator shoes online from Nordstrom. They have yet to come. They were a bit pricey at $99 (more expensive than anything else I wear), but I love that they are spectator shoes with classic styling and round toes. I shall take a picture of them when they come. They are made by a company called 1901, and they are called Wing it Spectator Shoes.

This is how these specific shoes actually appear.
Image

However, I would prefer if they made them look like this.
Image

Or even this.
Image

Those other styles were very common in the 1930's and 1940's. I am confused why they stopped making them.

I have a watch that I wear every day. Though I carry a phone on me at basically all times when I'm out, I personally feel like people look like twats when they pull out their phone just to check the time. Dunno why, it just seems like the stupidest waste of the technology, and people use their phones too much anyway.

My general wardrobe consists of jeans, t-shirt, hoodie, like most pictures of myself I've posted here. I don't go for style, I go for comfort. Summer and warmer weather, shorts, and a t-shirt. That's really all I need.

Well I have a few different pairs of shoes (finally). 1 for everyday wear, 1 for work, 1 for running and 1 dress shoe that basically never gets worn. Was gonna wear it to my friends wedding but the tux came with shoes. And of course I have flip flops.

When it comes to clothes I'm a typical dude that basically never goes shopping even though he should. I just don't care as much as I should. Also some of my friends are screen printers and I get clothes for free. Muahaha

On a day like today where I have nothing much going on - just errands to run - I'm wearing jeans and a band t shirt (Foo Fighters). If I go shoot pool I may wear something similar or a button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up. Those can be annoying for shooting pool though. At work I wear work clothes. If I have an installation the only thing that varies is if I wear jeans or shorts. It's FL so the sun is frickin brutal but if I have to go marching through brush that's the home of snakes, spiders and other "pals" then I'll rock the jeans.

Oh and I almost always have a hat on. I feel naked without one. It comes from years ago when I had really long hair and I always wore a hat to keep it out of my eyes. Now I have short hair but I still feel odd going out without one.

Today, my new spectator shoes came. I may repeat myself here, but they are made by 1901, and they are called Wing It spectators. These are by far, my favorite looking, and most comfortable shoes I own. They have a very soft cushioning inside, and they look classic. I took some pictures of them.

A wristwatch allows you to consult the time without the effort of pulling your phone out of your pocket/belt holder/purse, pressing a danged button once, twice, maybe three times in order to get the screen up, then putting it back when you're done.

Unless you hold it constantly in your hands. How are you supposed to win a knife fight with one hand occupied so? Unless you're filming the entire incident...

Anyhoo, a typical wandering soul such as myself invariably ends up owning a full-length black coat at some point. I have two. One is in leather, the other is cashmere.

Of course, this being southern California, I have about four days out of three-hundered sixty-five where I can actually wear one of them.

I like to wear minimal stuff that's comfortable. At any given time I'm probably wearing a button up, long sleeve shirt and jeans.

Buying a watch, when you already have a device that can tell you the time with relative ease, is a waste of money though. I plan on getting a watch but I recognize that it's an unnecessary luxury since I have a phone.
