20th First Seed: 3 hours past midnight

It smelled of human exertion and dead soil. Darkness crept alongside them. It must have been comforting that at the very least the Redguard - Legate Casimer Demetrius-Khan, he had claimed to be - and had not been lying when he'd told them that the tunnel had an end and the end would have them emerge outside the castle walls. The light and the ladder testified to the former point - and the sheer length of the walk to the latter. It had been perhaps twenty minutes since their conspiratorial meeting had concluded with mission directions, a short enough time that the bulk of it still echo'd in their minds:

The popular-history books of the future would begin - one could be certain - with a documentation of the nausea-inducing setting. The stench of death had filled their lungs on entering the Church Undercroft: the almost overwhelming odour of the corpses maintained below for embalming. Casimer had been waiting and his gaze seemed to pass over each of the newcomers with a glance at the strength of their reactions. He had first congratulated them all on completing their recruitment and joining the Legion. There was a disinterest - or at least a lack of warmth typical of a congratulations - in his tone. Then, formalities concluded, he had continued:

"But this is Black Legion. No-one will note your names on the official register - No-one outside a select few will even recall your names. The Empire, thus far, has maintained the illusion that it is on the retreat: that it is broken and prepared for a surrender. But our armies only lie in wait of their chance to strike in revenge whilst the Thalmor grow lax in their conceit. This is an illusion that can only be maintained with the recruitment of this unit - a deniable unit. You will not receive official funerals because you will not be on official business. But the success of our most crucial mission objectives will be predicated on your actions.

You might be wondering why we chose you for this unit. Gods-knows that we avoided natural fighters. But each of you is adept in a role, and together you are as formidable as any unit we put on the field."

There was a sense of heartfelt meaning in his tone. But the Redguard did not labour on such and had been quick to continue with the mission details next. Tone mild and business-like now, he listed off the facts like a tax-statement. The main Thalmor forces in the area had stationed themselves on the remains of a village which had been cleared out during the initial advance. Intelligence suggested that force had moved West but their supplies were still maintained in a number of large barns at the top of the hill that the village was situated on. Their mission was simple, eliminate the supplies and this would undermine the general Thalmor position. The manner in which he announced it offered no indication that he thought this was ambitious, or insane. He had continued without pause.

There was an Imperial scout waiting for them a mile south of their target location, with further directions and orders to accompany them. It was stressed with unusual strength that this scout was in no position of leadership, and that as far as the legion was concerned he was 'literal [&@%!]' but had a 'good eye'. Directions were offered, and then the passage they now walked was revealed: hidden behind a revolving tomb.

---

Gaining - now - on the end that was in sight, the ladder was becoming clearer in their vision; illuminated in the dim light of oil-fued lamp. It was made of rope but rope thick enough that it might have supported their heaviest members. Entering the chamber in which it was held - a chamber large enough to host their entire group, it's length could be admired, or feared. It seemed longer than their ascent to the Church Undercroft might have justified - hinting perhaps at a subtle slope in the path that had just been walked. The final words of the Redguard would have echo'd loudest in their heads as choices were to be made about who ascended first:

"The tunnel emerges at a Shrine to the Gods, three miles east of Cheydinhal, and one mile west of the target location. We can't be sure there won't be Thalmor closer, or even there.

Be careful."

"You're free to go."

The Imperial was expressionless as he fumbled with a large ring of keys to find the one for Shulbush's cell. It matched the emptiness in his tone, the droning indifference of an overworked, public-sector employee. It was about ten seconds later the gate swung open: emitting the same harsh creak it had slammed shut with a few hours later when the Orc had been thrown, dazed, into the dank hole.

"Up ye get then."

It was uttered with the same complete lack of enthusiasm as the guard stepped across to allow Shulbush out. He was - from there - led down the damp corridors of the underground prison, past the envy-filled stares of his cell-mates, and up the stairs. There was another gaurd upstairs who looked uncomfortable as Shulbash entered. His armour and weapons were laid out on the desk-space, was the likeliest explanation for it. The Orc noticed with immediacy that none of the gold he had been carrying before his arrest was there.

"[&@%!] off, human."

"I'm just here to have a drink, human."

"Now, you've [&@%!] me off, human."

Damn humans. All they had to do was leave me alone. What did they think would happen after the first punch? For me to take it? Attack me and it is unwise. Foolish of me to allow it to happen. Should have used fear and threats not punches. Now, revenge is at risk and if they decide to make an example of the orc that beat up a few drunk humans and almost murdered one by punching him in the chest, I won't go quietly.

Shulbash hated his cell. He hated the tavern that he fought in a few days ago and hated himself for allowing himself to lose his temper. He had accidentally killed an imperial or so he was told after throwing him through a table and stomping on his face. He only went in there for a quiet drink but the drunkards harrassed him and were foolish enough to punch him after being told to go away. In his younger days as Skullbash, he would had murdered them or made them fear the day they [&@%!] off the wrong orc. Now? he regretted using his anger. A few punches and fear were the practical choice. But what happened had happened and he was stuck in this cell. So, he had spent every single second execerising, working out and keeping himself occupied.

He remained quiet as the guard opened the door and shot him a death glare. Mainly to cerment his reputation as a person to be feared, mainly because he felt like scaring the human for no reason. Ever since the elves had slaughtered his friends and his order, he had no real purpose left.

"I am not surprised." He commented after being informed of some of his gear was being held as evidence. After putting on his platemail and sheathing his weapons, he turned to look at the guard with a snide grin. He knew someone had greased the wheels to gain his release and if it was the Thalmor. It was rather impractical.

The guard maintained his smile, and after allowing Shulbash to collect his gear he escorted him outside. It was late at night - or quite dark at least.

With the Orc outside, the guard slammed the door and snatched the last of the warmth from his back. The barest moment had passed when he heard a voice:

"You owe me a'thousand septims, Orc."

The voice was harsh and held a southern accent. The figure was lent against the wall to his right. It was difficult to make out his exact proportions in the night. He had dark skin and the thick fuzz of his facial hair hinted his heritage was that of a Redgaurd. But at the same time - he seemed to have too much of an Imperial look about him. It was immediately apparent to Shulbash that he was wearing armour beneath his robes - which, whilst it might have exaggerated his stockiness, could act as a complete negation to the man's broad, imposing character.

There was a short pause and then he continued:

"You sleep on the streets - or is there somewhere we can talk?"

After being escorted by the thieves in charge, Shulbash knew he would have to take on a few jobs to recover the cash he lost to those [&@%!]. At least I was up front with my thefts in my youth. He heard a voice and knew that if it was indeed a trap, it wouldn't waste time if it was practical. "[&@%!] you." He retorted. You want the septims. Break into it and recover. If this is a trap, Strike first or face a true monster He gave the redguard a deathglare. "I have no reason to trust you and you are interested in me. Why? Not many would care to get a dangerous orc out of prison without wanting something in return. We will talk at my place." He lived near the bookstore and in an old storage room in the building next to it.

The Redgaurd firmed his teeth in irritation as the outburst preceded. But, then, what had he been expecting.

"We can talk at your place."

"Shut up and follow me, Redguard. The elven [&@%!] don't take kindly to strangers such as yourself and barely tolerate people like me in this city." Fortunate that the Thalmor haven't viewed me as someone who should be stripped. Would have been best to arrange for weapons to be lost if they wanted to and viewed me as a threat. Curious about this one. If it's a trap, slit his throat. Best not to drag it out. No interest in finding out. May leave this city and seek out an old place.

After carefully guiding the redguard to his storage room turned living quarters and avoiding the Thalmor, Shulbash's place of residence was reached. It wasn't an appealing place. It was half the size of a normal room and only contained a bed roll along with a big rucksack that was suffering from wear and tear. There was a map of Cheydinhall with various notes about patrols, contacts for jobs and potential ambush options. Shulbash had spent his spare time observing and making note of his findings in case he ever recieved word of any resistance groups. He may not have been able to strike the Thalmor directly but he was a patient orc. There was also a copy of the Lusty Argonian Maid. After the redguard entered, he locked the door and pointed an axe at him. "Speak."

The Redguard was unflinching as he preceded behind the Orc - There was a confidence in each step.

He past the barest glances around the room on entering - there was a disinterest in his gaze as if he had seen it all before. "Ni-". He hadn't begun to speak when the latched locked and the Orc drew his axe. For the shortest moment a quiver of doubt crossed his features, but he had regained his composure within a blink.

"I understand why I've never heard of Orcish hospitality now, I guess."

His tone was dry and devoid of any obvious humour. He paused as if to watch the reaction form before continuing:

"I'm here on behalf of the Legion. We know you fought the Thalmor once before, I'm here to to ask if you'll do it again."

Shulbash wasn't one for jokes nowadays due to the recent loss of his friends and the Knights of the Nine. Most of him wanted to tear out the throats of the Thalmor. He would break their arms and give them slow painful deaths for their crimes against people of Cyrodiil. He would unleash the monster he was as Skullbash on them. He was good for nothing else but pure patient revenge and it would be served cold.

He ignored the joke or dry remark, he couldn't give a flying cur if it was either. "The Legion? The Imperial Legion?" He commented as he slowly lowered his axe. "The Legion that fled and abandoned it's people. They gave the entire province to the [&@%!] that view all humans as animals. The [&@%!] that would use my kind for sport if we were weak. The [&@%!] that would murder a child for simply uttering Talos in their presence." You have my interest. The Imperial Legion? Resistances are often wiped out or never formed. Not heard any signs. Curious about their interest in me. "You want me to rip their skulls open and [&@%!] in them? You are willing to unleash the likes of me on a common enemy." He inquired to maintain the illusion he was a vicious destructive orc that was one's worst nightmare if you were his enemy. "I accept on the condition that any laws, methods or anything that the Imperial Empire of Titus Mede the second does not arrest me for 'war crimes' or anything I have or will have done to save the damn thing from the [&@%!]. If not, you are a fool if you think this can be done without getting your hands dirty. If you refuse my generous condition when many would ask for a reward, find yourself another orc."

"Yes. That Legion."

There was a note of irritability int he Redgaurd's tone but he allowed Shulbash to continue.

"You won't be joining the conventional legion, Orc. You won't fight on our ledger. We'll aim you: But you get the job done and we don't care how. We forget you even exist after that.

Your actions -" he continued: "- will only be remembered in the nightmares of the foes you leave behind."

Shulbash smirked as he heard the Redguard's answer. Practical. Benefits both. Can disappear or end life or rebuild. Depends on what purpose i find. The Thalmor will regret forcing Skullbash Manbreaker to come back to life. "They shall learn to fear Skullbash ManBreaker." He told the redguard. "Elfbreaker." He corrected himself and whilst he hated his former self, he knew the younger him was a more vicious monster. It had no morals, no qualms about killing a man for coin or for sport. Or both. The legion may be steering him but it was he who would unleash the monster he used to be. Bones would be broken. Elves would be tortured. All to free Cyrodiil from their tyranny or perish in the process. Elfbreaker. Would suit a Warhammer.

he Redguard nodded. "That's what I like to hear."

"I assume there are others. Give me the location of the meeting point." Shulbash told the redguard as he walked over to the bedroll and used his foot to move it to the right. He used his dagger to lift up a floorboard to retrieve his emergency supply of septims. 250 were put by via various odd jobs that he had undertaken in case he ever found himself without cash. Sure, he could have tried to steal it back but the only stealing he was rather adept at involved his claymore, a gang and death threats followed by death.

They have been informed. If they have experience, find a leader. If they do not or have no Shulbash arrived with his equipment and rucksack. "This is it?" He remarked with mild disbelief at the gathering of recruits. "I am Shulbash. Warrior. Breaker of Men and Elves. Murderer. Thief. Torturer. I have fought the Thalmor many times. Do any of you have experience of taking the lives of the [&@%!]?" He addressed the group. Looks weak. May use that to our advantage. No obvious warriors. May have to take charge and lead them. They are useful or the Legion are fools . "But we will head up and get introductions done when we are away from this city. Refer to me as Skullbash. It will become the name they fear. I shall go first up the ladder."

Baelfire stood in the gloom of the Undercroft chamber, his hood draped over his head as a shield from the cold night air.
Clad in black, the gentle light from the flickering oil lamp did little to illuminate his frame.

As Shulbash began to speak, the Imperial glanced over at him for a second, on his approach to their way of exit: the rope ladder.
With a quick look upwards, he began to climb.

Following closely through the darkness, her quirky hair, those glancing eyes, them shuffling feet. She held tightly to a tome against her chest with both arms

'Woe have I gotten myself into now..

She seemed so misplaced, and quite evidently by her attire, somewhat unready for this evening of events. Time and time again she replayed that speech in her head, she was no warrior, no spy, no agent, but a simple book seller.

Her nerves further shakes as the large brutish figure gave his voice. As she glanced at the rope, she wavered a bit, she held tighter to her tome

Engrossed in his textbook the voice seemed to come out of nowhere. For all intents and purposes, it did.

"Two years is a fantastic time t'pick up as much as y'did.

Y'must really hate'm."

Moments passed - moments long enough for Laurius to begin to believe that it might have just been his imagination. But - then - who imagines voices they'd never heard before? This one was slick - of obvious lower-class origin but spoken with a confidence well above its station. But still: the silence lasted long enough that he might have gone back to his book had the cloak of invisibility not evaporated before his eyes. The man revealed was short: a harsh, gaunt face, blue eyes, blonde hair peaking out beneath his hood, a skinny frame.

He wore robes, but beneath those robes it was armour that poked through. Imperial armour.

"Why aren't'ya fightin'em again?"

Laurius quirked an eyebrow. His surprise at the sudden appearance of the man was outmatched by his indignation at the question being asked. "What, should I have thrown my life away in a futile attempt to retake the city?" he retorted defensively. "I have had not the ability to fight in any way I know how. Even with what I've learned, what could I do alone?" Then he realized he may have gotten ahead of himself. The Imperial armour didn't necessarily mean a thing; he had no idea who this man was, or if he could trust him.

"So who might you be, then?" Laurius asked. "And why have you come here?"

There was no outward signs of defensive in the other mans expression or posture. In fact, the manner in which his eyes narrowed and the end of his lips wrinkled hinted at a sense of wry amusement.

"Er'dor, Tribune.

And I don't mean n'offence. But with things as grim as they'are you'd think you wouldn't be helping yourself much waiting."

His response was immediate and held the candour and seriousness that hadn't been portrayed in his expression. There was a pause before he added:

"Why do you think I'm here?"

"Well, if you are who you say you are..." Laurius said, pausing to emphasize the condition, "Then all things considered, I suppose you must be here to ask my help in some kind of resistance effort?"

"Resistance. That's a word fer it." There was a snort of what seemed like amusement before he continued, words slow and deliberate.

"The Empire's losing - and I mean, losing - and we think you've something t'offer. Least alongside the others we've considered.

Y'can trust me on this or you can sit in this cellar, read dusty tomes and rhyme off some spells as if it'll be worth something. Meanwhile, the Thalmor will continue to [&@%!] on Tamriel and y'better realise that'll be all there is to it."

He raised an eyebrow, expectantly.

"Okay, okay, no need for all that," said Laurius, holding up his hands in mock surrender. "I'm not about to turn this opportunity down. I'll join you in... whatever this is, if it's my chance to do something in this war."
---

Standing in the dim chamber with his hand on the hilt of his rapier, Laurius Maximilian could not but snort at Shulbash's comments. "My apologies, sir Orc," he said, his smooth voice marked with wry amusement, "But I'm not calling anyone Skullbash with a straight face this side of the Shivering Isles."

He held up his hands self-effacingly, and gave an apologetic smirk. "Now, I don't want to get on anyone's bad side, and I won't question your experience in the fight. But let's all stick with the names we've been given, shall we? Laurius Maximilian is mine." He extended a hand to Shulbash, his attempt at making amends.

In actual fact, he was nervous and afraid for his life on this mission tonight, but he was doing his best to conceal it behind the bravado he was well used to displaying. He'd had to tone that down in the last two years, to avoid drawing the eye of the invaders, but it still came naturally to him. Or at the very least, it covered up the writhing pit in his stomach.

Shulbash

"Skullbash would serve as a name for them to fear and an obvious clue to what will happen." Shulbash told the Imperial and looked at him. He shook the Imperial's hand with a very strong grip. Either He was showing his strength or he never knew how much pressure to apply to the recipent's hand. "That is wise." He saw that the other Imperial had ignored him and mentally labelled him a fool. It was his plan to go first to see if the exit was clear and take care of any Thalmor that were nearby. "Go ahead. Get caught by any [&@%!] that are potentially waiting above." He told the man that was climbing the ladder. Get the feeling that this.....gathering may not be easy to lead. Skullbash Elfbreaker may sound like a stupid name but it is one the elves shall fear. Best release his hand before I accidentally break it. Always hate shaking hands unless I am trying to injure them. Why? Why is this such a gesture? He released Lauris's hand.

You'd think they could spring for some armor. Half of us are in our damn clothes.

"Says the Orc wearing more metal than a war horse. Not exactly the most covert apparel." said Philip in a low tone once Skullbash had finished. Bash, brash, crash, rash. Eh, I could work with it. He crossed his arms and watched the Imperial climb. If there was anyone up there they were soon going to find out.

Arya Direnni

All this tension and passive aggressiveness was really eating away at her courage, well, what little she really had. Uncontrollably, the elf began to shake, so much so her bones could even rattle. And yet, she kept her smile, albeit forced.

She tried to speak through her mounting panic "Ummm.. I..I..I.. No.. This is fine. Normal even.. Exquisite in the mundane.. What could possibly go wrong?" She sniffled a bit, and once more forced that smile "This fine. It's fine.." She felt so small amongst these fighters

Character sheet is in my post on the first page; already accepted by Velvet.

Sorondil's assistant, Kahla, was approached by a member of the Imperial Legion. He was looking for her mother - Sorondil's previous assistant - who happened to be a former Legion member. When Kahla explained that her mother was dead, the Legionnaire asked if she would like to join the resistance - or knew of anyone who would be a good candidate for it. Kahla put forth Sorondil's name, since she knew he wanted revenge on the Thalmor.

Sorondil

Sorondil sighed at the pointless bickering, and refrained from commenting. They hadn't even exited the tunnel to begin their first mission.

He glanced up at the rope ladder as some of the group began to climb. "Hold up," he ordered. "We don't know if we're walking into an ambush. I can summon a familiar to scout it out, if we want."

My recruitment PMs will be inserted here once they've actually been written.

Vila stood a little bit farther off the main rabble, arms crossed in front of her chest, her stern gaze systematically scanning her surroundings for information, a practice which conjured an illusion of sluggishness and disinterest on the exterior.

The fact that they were to perform their virgin mission with little more than vague information and the clothes on their back wasn't unsurprising, but disconcerting nontheless. There was no doubt in her mind that the mission's objective was not to burn the Thalmor supplies; that would only be a convenient bonus. No, it was their viability, their ability of this rag-tag team of extraordinary individuals to perform extraordinary feats with extraordinary results. They were an experiment. Her eyebrow cocked up at Shulbash's boisterous introduction. Half of her fellow recruits seemed to share her sentiment on the Orc. She would wait before actually commenting on it, though. If she were to pass this test, and pass it alive, she would have to manipulate the flow and the accuracy of information. Not so different from selling books. Not at all.

Her gaze grazed Arya, her former mentor. It was a little bit ironic that they'd continue to be colleagues in this much more haphhazard line of work. The Altmer seemed nervous, which was normal. Vila was quite nervous herself, she was just better at hiding it. Just as when the Bosmer scout had pretended to apprehend her, her expression was like a dark-stained porcelain mask. Countenance was everything, especially while your new superior is inspecting you while you're trying not to retch from the smell of the decomposing dead.

"I'm Vila. Vila Valaai. Either suits me," her voice was calm, as if this were nothing but an afternoon meeting of people faintly acquianted with another. "I sell books, with Arya here." As she spoke, she glanced over at the ladder. She wasn't making any moves towards it yet. She wanted to know more about the people she was working with before delivering herself into the vague situation above ground.

Without halting from his climb, nor looking away from his direction of travel, Baelfire answered whomever was telling him to 'hold up'.
"It's fine. I'll check things out."
His voice was deep, but silken smooth.

Shulbash

"Be quick and return to let us know." Shulbash told the Imperial and mentally facepalmed at what had been gathered. Booksellers are a poor choice. She best have other skills or her life may be taken by the curs that took this province. This is going to be.......interesting. They best not object to any torture or kills.

Arya Direnni

The bookseller tried to work up some strength, if not due to display before her pupil. She took a sharp breath, before a slow exhale to calm her jumpy nerves "A..Arya Direnni, if we are to be formal.." Formality was probably lost when hiding behind the back of her younger, or crowded in decrepit tunnel.

"Y..your S..Sorondil if I'm to be correct." She raised a weary finger while saying so "An'.. your Marnus's and Celestia's child, are you not?" She slowly undid herself from the security of her shelter, or more appropriately, Vila's back.

Looking up at the ladder, she said in distant pause "I.. I.. highly doubt there would be an ambush immediately upon our ascent.. Had this been a trap.. Would we not already be snared? W..we should p..probably try and preserve any magicka.. Till we're under the moons' light.. I..If their waiting for us.. T..they know where we'll go."

"Philip Morello, professional bard. You might have heard me playing at one of the city's taverns. Before the occupation that is." said Philip, introducing himself. He turned his head to look at Arya. It was clear the woman was anxious and why wouldn't she be? He thought it best to try and ease those nerves. "A mage then? One of my best friends is a mage. Blanche. And her tricks came in useful more than my sword ever did. You'll be fine. And like you said, they don't know we're here." said Philip with a reassuring grin.

Laurius looked up at Baelfire with an eyebrow raised, thinking that his fellow Imperial was being unnecessarily rash. Still, he waited for the man to reach the top and report what he saw.

"Indeed I am," he replied to Arya's recognition of him, although the mention of his father had sent a pang through his heart. He seconded Philip's encouragement: "Hear, hear. You've no more to worry about than the rest of us, and considering that I'd only call myself perhaps two-thirds of a mage, I can say you're surely in a better spot than at least one of us."

Sorondil

The old Altmer shrugged when the Imperial insisted on climbing. There were advantages to doing it either way: a person might be less visually noticeable than a familiar.

He nodded when the bookseller recognized him: he recognized her as well, though he did not know her particularly well. "Sorondil, alchemist," he said, for the benefit of the others. "And conjuration specialist."

At her comment about the ambush, he explained his reasoning, crossing his arms. "He said that there is a shrine to the gods above this. Would that not be an ideal place for them to watch for any worshipers that flout their decrees?"

Baelfire soon reached the top of the ladder and a trapdoor, constructed of grubby, aged iron, that, when ready, he could push open.

There were no voices from above to be heard.

"Sshh." Baelfire asked for the others to be quiet, before he slowly pushed open the trapdoor - just enough to peer outside.

Wherever Baelfire was peering out to, it was dark. The immediate sense was that of his own confinement: direct in front he could see a solid-stone table and his position was then further enclosed by the walls around him; which, from his angle, gave the impression of squeezing together somewhere close behind. He seemed to be in some sort of cave, but the strength of wind's whistle that bustled further on hinted at it being an abri, rather. The single light was that of the flickering candles, which, with a glance up, he could see poised at the edge of the stone table. There was some sort of religious relic separating them at the centre, a golden horn.

No-one tried to kill him, which was a good start.

With no immediate threat visibly present upon opening the trapdoor, Baelfire pushed it open further.
He kept his eyes keen and his ears sharp, as he slowly climbed above ground.

Baelfire heard nothing to set him off as he climbed out of the trapdoor. It seemed to have been well oiled despite it's worn look as it did not emit even the mildest creak.

The Imperial emerged into a cave that was just as small as might have been immediately recognised. The stone table was about four feet and one foot across. On it rested candles, placed around the golden horn, and various tributes (jewels, gold, and so on) that one would presume had been offered to the gods at one stage or another. Other than that the cave fit nothing else. In fact - once one accounted for the space the stone table took up: it was smaller than the chamber that Baelfire had climbed up from. It's depth ended almost immediately after the trapdoor.

Standing, he could see outside the cave mouth and into the surrounding woods. The night was pitch black - the moon hidden behind clouds.

Inching closer to the rope, Arya tried to peer up to see what was going on, and whether the young man reached the top yet. She leaned back, looking straight up, like a fool now star gazing at day

Shulbash

Shulbash made his way towards the rope ladder and placed a hand on the scared woman's shoulder. "Do not be quick to venture ahead." He advised her and hated seeing innocents being slaughtered like sheep. He had seen the handiwork of the Thalmor of those deemed to be criminals and it was not something he would ever forget. The images of burnt farmers were the first thing he saw when he closed his eyes. The heads of citizens stuck on pikes for worshipping Talos was something he pay them back in blood for. If everything was clear ahead, he would attempt to be the second one up the ladder.

The hand on her shoulder took her by sudden surprise, and made her jump a bit. It didn't help one bit that she was already leaned back and loss on focus.

In a quick yipe, the altmer mate found her feet not the floor, but to the air. She fell back in surprise, landing upon her rump

"Ow..ow.. ow... I.. I was just looking. Inspecting to see whether he made his ascent unhindered.. Uh... How I wished the same down here"

Shulbash

Shulbash was caught off guard by the woman's reaction and looked down at her after she fell over. He extended his left arm with the intention of helping her up. "I did not intend to scare you, little one." He told her. "It is best to use caution and haste can lead to death. I shall look out for you. The N... Malacath knows I have seen too much death." Almost let that slip. Need to protect the weaker members. If caught and tortured, enrage the torturer and take the brunt of it. I will perish or take it. Makes no difference. Her? She would crack instantly. Same with the other book woman and most of these. Mission plans should be formed. Use this Imperial Scout as bait for the Thalmor. Kill Thalmor and burn supplies. A wandering sellsword is associated with us. Need to suggest it later. Use myself as a big dumb slave with the Altmer as my master. THe others burn supplies whilst we distract what likely low ranking guards they have left. He didn't smile at her out of the belief his scarred face would come off as rather creepy. He wasn't a pretty orc but neither was the battlefield.

EDIT: Cocked up with the Italics. Corrected now.
