Well, here goes nothing. Welcome to my first rp! First off is the info of this rp, correct? Well this is about a guild of thieves and assassians that call themselves "The Nightshades", you start out as a new member, you are in the hideout when you start. ( Or any rank you want, ranks are, Leader, council member, trainer, and member.) The guild is falling apart, you can choose to try and save it or let it fall. Now we are onto the character sheet, I think..

Name:
Race ( Elf, Half- elf, Dwarf, Human, or Orc.):
Gender:
Class( rogue, mage, warrior, ect):
Choice of weapon(s):
Rank:
Age:
Desciption:
Backstory:

Ok, I think thats it for the character sheet, you may add more if you wish.

Next is rules.

1. No Gmoding.
2. Please be respectful to others.
3. Don't change the rp on me, ok?
4. Have fun?

If you have anymore rules you would like me to add please feel free to do so.

Uh ok, I think thats it. Please correct me if I've done anything wrong. Any advice will be helpful.

Name: Talm
Race: Elf
Gender: Female
Class: Rogue
Choice of weapons: Bow and arrows
Rank: Member
Age: 19
Description: Black hair, green eyes, skin color is in between pale and tan, skinny, usually wearing a hooded cloak.
Backstory: Talm is a member to The Nighshades, she can be quick to anger( depending on what you say), but otherwise is very friendly.

Well, let's see how this goes....

You should really tell people about the setting. Also join RPs on the forum before making your own. Even if you have had experience elsewhere people here don't know you or how you RP.

This is a really interesting idea; misc fantasy roleplay? I like it. Perhaps count me in.

Is this an original universe or existing? If original you'll need to provide descriptions of the races.

Existing and you have to people tell people which it is. Also if it is original give setting details.

Well..I guess I can set up the life spans for the races.
Dwarves: Can live for 300 years if lucky, matures at 50.
Elves: Can live for 200 years, but have been known to live longer but is rare. Matures at 40 or younger.
Humans: They can live for a good 80 years or older. Matures at 18, sometimes.
Half-elves: Been know to live a good 250 years, they mature at 22, most of the time.
Orc: Been known to live a good 100 years, they mature at a young age, mostly 10 or 12.

I really hope that helps...

You have pretty much no setting details at all.

What is the name of the world? What countries are there? What government is there? What law enforcement is there? What are the religions like? What is the culture like? What kind of wildlife is there? How advanced is their technology? How does magic work? What do people think of it? Who can do magic? Is there discrimination?

I haven't the faintest clue what the answer to any of these are. I could put up many more. I would recommend putting off making this until you have stuff sorted out and actually join RPs.

I would also recommend using an existing universe when you do start this.

The word is called Sithisa.

There are four countries, Dallius is a mountain like country, that belongs to the dwarves. Dulabu, is the land of the orcs and humans, it is a grassy plain which is perfect for farming. Irisalia, is a forested land, it belongs to the elves. and the Isle of Ports, a misty island, it has alot of water ways and trees, it belongs to the half-elves. Three of the countries are connected, the Isle of ports is farer off the coast of Irisalia.

The government is ruled by either a king, queen, or council.

The law enforcement is very active, in the past there was less activity, mainly of guards and knights.

For cultures, it's pretty simple, bright color, religion, music, arts, and dancing.

For wild life there are cows, chickens, birds, foxes, bears, trolls, fish, bugs, and snakes. Simple enough.

For techonolgy the dwarves are by far very advanced in it, the orcs are the least advanced, the other races have some skilles in techonolgy but not a whole lot.

Magic is simple, fire, frost, arcane, shadow, healing, illusions. Some people like magic, some don't, and others just don't care for it. Any race can use magic.

For Discrimation, the races all seem to like each other, after all there hasn't been a war in over two thosand years.

You know, I'm just going to lie down a bit, I'll be on later, maybe.

I see that you are starting an RP and decided I would give you a few pointers, when people say that you need to give a description of your world and races and stuff they means something like this

It takes a lot of effort to make your own world and that is really what people will want to see, well maybe not as much as Pomcey but the more detail you put in the easier it will be for people to visualise your world. I hope that the length of Pomceys opening post doesn't put you off making up your own world, it can be hard work but it is rewarding in the end.

Secondly it is always better to get some roleplaying experience in first before you start a RP. Here's some roleplaying tips if you haven't before. and if you have RPed before and are just new to DMing, we got tips for that too.

Just saying there is religion isn't much of a description of religion. Judaism, Shinto and Hinduism are all religions. But they are all very different.

Making an original fantasy world is a lot of work. Epically for a first time GM. I'm not saying you can't do it but it takes a lot of work.

I'd say that

this

is a decent size of information that you should edit into the opening post.

Though, I wouldn't suggest doing so, if you never Rped before. If you have never Rped before, Dming isn't going to be as enjoyable. (Don't learn it the hardway)
