Suzie strolled into the cafeteria right on eight. She didn't bother getting any slop; just turning up would be enough hassle, without her choking on that mess. She sat on the end of Angela's table, nodded to her and put her feet up, relaxing. If she couldn't get any fuel for breakfast without poisoning herself, she at least needed to save her energy. She got the feeling she was going to be breaking quite a few noses today.

Jake looked up to be greeted by a wave from a table further along the hall, noticing her face, and then the rest of her, it could only be Angela. He waved back with a smile, and mouthed "Hey, you okay?". Then he noticed Chris, who seemed to be talking too him, although he hadn't noticed, and wished he hadn't as he heard the word "Shakin'". "Not much, not much at all. Food improved much?" he asked, the sentence laiden with sarcasm.

"It's Rich. Why are you even over here?" Richard asked, knowing she wasn't really interested in having a conversation with him. After a moment, he then saw her cell phone that she was texting on. "So? Who are you trying to text?" He asked, just so she knew she wasn't doing a good job at hiding it.

The auburn haired teen tilted her head and gave a half-smirk in an "I guess so" gesture, glancing at Chris as he approached Jake's table. Oh look, a fellow misfit. She turned to Suzie and smiled half-heartedly, reclining in her chair again. "What's up?" She sighed, looking towards the doors with wistfulness.

Andrea blushed. She hated when people could easily see what she was hiding, be it her cell phone, iPod, or any other form of device. She figured Richard wasn't a tattler, as he was keeping it under the radar. "Umm..." she replied, distracted by the phone. "Ali Warren. She went here last year. Maybe you saw her..."

She was texting fast. She had some experience with the ways of the cell phone.

"Never heard of her. Therefore, she doesn't exist," Rich said, as he got up, took his empty tray and threw it out leaving Andrea alone at the table. He looked around the room. Bob was eating...actually, drinking a melted chocolate bar. Dom was eating quietly, looking at the birds outside. He couldn't help but smile. He was a good, big lump of a guy. Of course there were other scouts in there, but he didn't really care about them, well except for one of them. Rich thought about sitting by her, but decided against it. He decided that he should wait until trying to approach her when he didn't have to. "Tonight maybe...I think I'll tell her," he thought, looking at her. He looked around again. No one was by the front door, so he just walked over there and rested up against the wall, waiting for the day's activity to start.

Andrea cocked an eyebrow. "Weird kid..." she said under her breath. She then turned off her phone and searched for another seat. She then noticed the seat right next to Jake. Her cheeks turned as red as a crayola crayon in less than a second. She got up and approached the table. She then turned around and headed back to the table she has already been sitting at.

No! What am I doing!?

She had never been so nervous about a guy before. This one was different...
She headed over to the empty seat and sat down next to Jake. Ugh...God, it was Chris. He was always at the wrong place at the wrong time! At least she was actually next to someone normal. "Umm....Hi." she said to Jake with hesitation. "I'm Andrea. Andrea Colombo. Weird name, right?" she giggled nervously.

Richard observed Andrea's pathetic display trying to talk to Jake. He didn't know about him, but if some girl acted like that to him, Rich would right out tell her he wasn't interested. Who knew though, maybe Jake liked her back...

"Yeah, I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it through the day if this place doesn't liven up," Suzie calmly replied. "I really hate scouts. No offence to you of course."
She looked over to Andrea and shook her head.
"That girl just tries too hard." she smirked.

Angela nodded and yawned, following Suzie's gaze over to Andrea. "I hate scouts too, and most camps in general. Too cramped." She got up and pushed her chair back, giving her knuckles a casual crack and sighing. "Hopefully the counselors or whatever will give us something slightly productive or interesting to do today, to pass the time." She turned her gaze to Richard for a moment, then to Bob, before back to Chris, Andrea, and Jake clustered around their table. "With luck," she muttered, tilting her head back to Suzie, "we will make it through this week mostly unscathed." She strode forward to the doors, where a few feet away from the exit she propped herself against a wall and gazed at the ceiling, humming some sort of obscure tune. And just think, this is only our first day...
