"Ah, son of a [&@%!]!" Ronin shouted. He spun around and attempted to run his assailant through with his sword. Simultaneously, he cried, "Men, switch to your swords! We need to hold the top of the wall!"

The Wall

The imp's attack was weak and unworthy. Gailen's dodge was quick and expert. The imp missed. Gailen did not. His pommel, very heavy, smashed open the imp's skull. The following shall did certainly finish it. The other enemy had barely recovered when Gailen turned back to face him.

Navariësé struck the ork directly in the head, causing him to stumble and fall off of the wall, dying as he hit the ground on the inside of the compound. The other ork yelled and, enraged, charged at Navariësé, like some possessed demon.

The Gate

In his rage, Ronin punched his sword right through his enemy's gut, forcing blood and flesh out of the other side. The imp was dead within an instant, no help, nothing could be done for it. It was dead as dead could be. There was a clattering of swords as the legionaries switched weapons and engaged the orks at close range, duelling with them, stabbing at them, jabbing them.

Gailen aimed a kick at the imp's shin, and if he accomplished this, he would follow up with another slash.

The Wall

The imp, being a fast little blighter and a [&@%!], scuttled out of the way of the kick and lurched towards Gailen with two sharp knives. The knives missed Gailen by inches. Though small, they looked as sharp as the white teeth of dragons and would easily insert themselves through his armour.

Gailen feinted a swing at the imp's neck, actually intending to let the blade go diagonally from the imp's shoulder to its stomach.

Navariësé attempted to move to the side just a few seconds before it reached her in an attempt to make it miss it's target. If it fell for it, she would stab the ork in it's side and finish it off with a sword through the neck. If she was unable to do that, she would make an X with her blades in an attempt to block it and would kick it in the balls if she managed to block it.

The Wall

Gailen may have well went for the ork's neck, for it was in no position to dodge the attack. Instead, when Gailen's blade cut into the juvenile ork's shoulder, it failed to go much further, for the flesh and muscle was thick and very hard to cut through. The ork cried out in pain and struggled to free its arm.

The ork lowered its head and placed its arm in from of its face, like some foul and ugly rock. None of Navariësé's counters would work and the ork's head charged right into her stomach, forcing the air out of her lungs and her weapons out of her hand. The ork snarled and cried out in wrath, red tendrils flapping around its body, anger incarnate. It punched Navariësé repeatedly in the face. Pain engulfed her body. Her jaw and nose were broken. The ork wore a belt and the belt was loose and hung low. On the loose belt was a loose dagger and the dagger was within Navariësé's grasp.

Navariësé yanked the dagger out of the belt and attempted to stab the ork in the stomach. She felt a lot of pain and knew that she would have to put up with it or she would just end up dying.

Yalveni unleashed more fire as he tried to come closer to the shaman.

"Don't give them any room to advance!" Ronin shouted. "And keep taking care of that ladder!" He looked around to see whether any of his men were in a tight spot that he could help them with, or whether they were all handling themselves fine.

The Wall

The shaman rolled out of the way as the fire licked at his black cloak. The shaman roared in anger and punched the fire with his staff, absorbing the energy, sucking it into himself like a vortex. With a shout in his foul language, he unleashed Yalveni's own strength against him, blasting from his staff a very bright and orange light.

The knife was off target and only managed to stab slightly into the ork, but it was enough to distract it long enough for Navariësé to throw it off of her and stand up. Her swords were right beside her, on the ground.

The Gate

As the legionaries were outnumbered at least ten to one at any given time, all of his men were in a tight spot and none of them were handling themselves in a way that could be judged as fine. The fact that none of them had been slain or grievously murdered was a remarkable testament to their great skill and prowess of arms.

Navariësé picked up both weapons and swung them at the ork.

Gailen swore, aiming another kick at the imp's groin, while attempting to wrench his sword from its flesh.

Ronin knew he needed to take it upon himself to contribute as much as he could, until he could tell whether they were doing anything to slow the tide or if they were just fighting in futility. Therefore, he took action first by running behind the nearest ork that was occupied fighting one of his legionaries, and attempting to stab it in the back.

The Wall

The ork, staggered from the attack, disorientated, surprised, confused, could not react in time. Navariësé's swords, in parallel, slashed through his skull, killing him instantly. His corpse fell to the ground, a lifeless vessel of stagnant blood.

The ork squealed and passed out from pain as Gailen ripped the embedded sword from the ork's shoulder. The imp collapsed and, spilling black blood everywhere, rolled over the ramparts and fell on the inside of the compound, the body crumbling as it hit solid stone.

The Gate

Ronin, surprise as his advantage, ambush in his step, pierced the ork in the back with great ease, his sword slipping through the armour, through the flesh and into the bone of the spine. The ork went limp and dead.

Navariësé spat some blood out afterwards and moved towards the nearest ork. She would swing both swords at the ork.

The Wall

The ork saw her coming and readied its shield. It held itself against the leather, holding to it like it was a baby, or like the ork was a baby clinging on to its mother. Navariësé came towards it and it reached up its shield as an offering. Navariësé's swords struck the leather, without much effect.

Navariësé attempted to kick the ork in the torso as she swung at the shield again.

Ronin then engaged the next nearest ork that posed a threat to one of his legionaries, stabbing it if it was off its guard.
