"The armoury is in the main section of the palace. So, it's a long walk I'm afraid. I would have been able to shave the journey down by a few minutes by using the service tunnels, but we've had to close them off to the enemy, like the sewers and the secret tunnels." the captain informed the barab.

Navariësé started to make her way towards the wall at a fast pace but was still walking.

Gailen nodded to Kælan, following him. "From traveler to assassin, back to traveler, and finally to soldier," he thought, amused, "What next? A sorcerer?"

Of course Navar should have waited for Yalveni since he was in command of her at that point, but her rushing off could be done too. Yalveni walked towards the walls to, trying to think up of ways on how to get everyone but Navar thought this safely.

The Baron's Armoury

"What is your name, soldier?" Kælan wondered of this new arrival.

Navariësé and Yalveni

Navariësé and Yalveni entered out into the dark and low chamber. In front of them, barely visible, were the shadows of Ronin and the captain, who were on their way towards the armoury to receive Ronin's new equipment.

"What are your orders?" Navariësé asked Yalveni in a resigned tone.

"My name is Paulorin," Gailen lied immediately, "And you're Kælan, correct?"

The Baron's Armoury

"Paulorin...? What sort of name is that?" frowned the bodyguard. "And yes, Kælan is my name." he extended his arm for Paulorin to shake.

"My father wasn't the best at names," Gailen explained, "Nargd, you know. He might have been a bit drunk too..." He trailed off, grinning.

"Well, safety before speed, at least in a situation such as this," said Ronin. He continued on with the captain.

"I'm going to focus on getting there first," Yalveni said, "I can play captain once we do."

Navariësé remained silent and continued to make her way to the wall with Yalveni.

The Wall

Yalveni and Navariësé arrived at the wall without any trouble. There, they met a small group of guards, legionaries and militia. The guards nad the legionaries were equipped with their traditional war garb, whilst the peasants had leather cuirasses, leather helmets and wooden shields. They were armed with axes and garden hoes.

The Palace Armoury

There was a hushed rush in the armoury. Many soldiers and peasants were being ferried in and out of the rooms by their irate and nervous commanders. The palace's stock of armour and weapons was almost nearly depleted, with only the armour of the elite remaining, guarded by two legionaries to make sure none of the lesser deserving people tried to grab it. They moved aside for the captain, who proceeded to grab a crested helmet and some plate armour for Ronin.

"Here, take this and get changed. I shall meet you at the entrance to the palace." Aventor stated, as he exited the room.

The Baron's Armoury

"Your father named you? That's most peculiar. Most of our kin, myself included, are named by our mothers. Hmm... Nevermind. So, what is your preference?" the bodyguard asked. "Male or female?" then he laughed. "Are you better suited with a bow or do you prefer to kick the [&@%!] out of people?"

"The citizens don't stand a chance against the orks."Navariësé said in a very low and sad tone to Yalveni before looking for some arrows from where she was standing.

"Way to be optimistic," Yalveni said sighing. "I'm Yalveni," he pointed a hand at himself, "And I'm told that I'm to help you hold back the orks for as long as possible. And this is Navariësé. I guess she's here to help as well...sort of."

"I am here to aid you in the defense of the wall as well." Navariësé told the legionaires,guards and citizens. "If you have any arrows to spare, i can put them to good use." She told the men assembled before them.

"Xūen Comites Mates." stated one of soldiers, in his heavy Palmuian accent. Yalveni may have identified it as being one of the Sypathyrian languages, meaning that the soldier was one from one of the most easterly provinces of the Senate.

"He says his name is Mates." his friend translated. "We are honoured to serve under you. We shall hold the line no matter the cost."

"Thanks," said Ronin, and changed into the plate armour. He placed his dragonskin set with the equipment that was being guarded by the legionaries, just to be safe. He left the armoury, carrying the crested helmet under his shoulder, and headed for the palace entrance to meet up with Captain Aventor.

"Have any of you faced an ork before?" Navariësé asked the men.

"You haven't met my mother," Gailen replied, barely managing to keep the contempt out of his voice, "I prefer my bow to my sword, anyway. I'm just more comfortable with it."

The Wall

"I have." stated one of the older citizens. Oddly, he was armed with a sword and had a banded iron chestplate and he looked more war-torn than the other peasants. "I served up north; I fought in the War of the Tall Orks. Killed some of them myself."

The Baron's Armoury

"I understand. Personally, I prefer to use a sword and a shield. I can make certain that I've slain my enemy. With an arrow, sometimes you don't have that certainty. I remember one of my mates shot a bandit off a cliff once. The bandit's fall was broken by the water and then he came back at night and killed my mate as he slept. If he'd used a sword, maybe the bandit would have died." Kælan mused. "But an bow has its advantages." and with that, he handed a lovely long bow to Gailen, as well as a quiver of thirty elven arrows.

Ronin

The captain was sitting on one of the steps, going over his sword with a sharpening knife, making sure that it was not blunt and that it was fit for battle with the orks. He looked up upon hearing footsteps.

"Aha, Ronin! You look like a commander now! Ready to see your soldiers?"

Navariësé took note of the old man but had nothing to say to him. "The orks are foul creatures, this much, i suspect you already know. They will show you no mercy and will rape your daughters,sisters and wives if they get a chance to after giving you a painful death. A quick one if you are lucky." She told the men. "And their blood is poisonous. If any of it gets into your bloodstream, you may as well fling yourself off the wall for it will slowly kill you. It also burns you." She informed the men.

"Sure," Ronin said. "Take me to 'em."

"What she meant to say is, be wary" Yalveni said. "Do you know what morale is, because you are slashing it's throat right now. Everybody here knows what an ork is. The siege didn't just start."

"I am just informing them about the hazards of orks as most have not fought an ork in their entire lives." Navariësé told Yalveni.
