Sairus turned from the man who was injured, to see the Krogan had a pistol to his head. He ran up and tackled the Salarian who held the pistol. He attempted to grab the pistol out of his hand.

*Peers around the empty forum thread*

Hello? Hello... Hello... Lo... Lo... *Hearing echos*

I came to the post-apocolypse version of this thread, I guess. . .

Who would join a different Mass Effect Roleplaying thread if I were to make it, since this thread seems K.I.A? With more lax rules, though... no base guidlines, you could RP an alien on any planet anywhere, etc...

Mass Effect seem to have some trouble kicking off on this forum. I've tried two, and they both failed badly. But I'll be happy to join one if you make it.

It seemed dead, in a while it would have faded off the main page.

A fresh start may be what it needs.

Alrighty then, a fresh start is in order.

I apologize for my absence as GM, but I was making another run through Mass Effect 1 and 2 to refresh my memory of the lore.

If you want to join just post your character below this post.

I just did that... replay the games, I mean.

So we start without the pre-existing story?

One thing though, those skill points confuse me. I think it'd be okay to disclude them.

Agreed. I'm sorry for the train wreck I caused.

The precluding story will be completely erased, and the skill system will be greatly simplified.

I'm going to change the poll to vote on settings for the new roleplay.
The start date will be two weeks before Saren's Geth attack on Eden Prime.

It doesn't seem like a train-wreck.

But theres a thing... or two...

1.) Why does there need to be a main setting, as long as there is a main idea?

2.) Why does it need to be near ME's storyline? Why can't we just say, like, 2 years before Saren's attack on Eden Prime and we go with ME's lore and make our own stories?

Just my opinion, though.

1) It's not the "main" setting, it is just the starting setting. Every story has a beginning, and there's a whole galaxy out there.

2) It's going to parallel the main Mass Effect storyline, but there is still plenty of room to write out our own adventure.
Like I said, there's a whole galaxy out there. I'm just trying to stick to a lore friendly time line because I have
already thought out a whole slew of instances that loosely parallel the main story of my recent play through.

But it just seems like if the story gets past two weeks, we'd get swept up in the main story.

I understand your concerns, but I have faith in my ability to make it work.

I'll be writing some setting descriptions for the poll choices to better prepare.

-EDIT- (Work in progress...) Done.

Caleston

Spoiler:
Mass Effect Wiki wrote:

Caleston is broadly similar to Jupiter's moon Io, with the difference being closer proximity to the system's star
and the presence of both Element Zero and a silicon based biosphere. That is, if a few species of thermosynthetic
plants that thrive on solar flares can be considered a biosphere.

The surface of Caleston is inherently dangerous to all known forms of sapient life and as such full body environmental suits
must be worn at all times while outside of a pressurized vehicle or building. The main economic venture on Caleston is it's lucrative
mining ventures and somewhat lax take on crime and punishment. All types from all walks of life can be found here,
though the general population are mostly hard working miners just trying to make ends meet.

A start here means that the players will be joining up with a local mining outfit.

Eden Prime

The Citadel

Spoiler:
Mass Effect Wiki wrote:

The Citadel is the widely accepted center of authority in The Milky Way.

As such, most known species hold embassies here and even more have members residing on the station.

A start here means the player will come up with their own back story.

Weight: 46kg

Extent of Cybernetic and Genetic Enhancement: None

Education Level: Little formal, mainly being taught on the streets

Unsure of her past or parents, she lived on the streets as a child, often foced to beg or pick up odd jobs to survive. The dangerous nature of the wards and discrimination against humans caused her to learn a lot about small arms in defense. When she turned 16, she was given an anonymous job guarding a crime boss' warehouse. Two days ago, realising she wasn't getting anywhere with a difficult and low payed job, she ran off, taking the Sniper Rifle and Omni-tool given to her with her. She is desperate to get off the planet and slip through the fingers of the criminal underworld.
