Vex came to with a groan, sitting up and putting her hand to her forehead. When her vision re-aligned itself, she leapt back in surprise at the mechanical men, backing away into a wall.

Yalun clenched his ears. "LOVE OF THE DARK STARS." He almost yelled. "Stop that."

John made sure all of the prisoners were awake before leading them up through caverns of Arvel into the main market chamber, where Ben was.

All that time Ben stayed silent taking in what was happening, formulating a plan in his mind to escape. At least the trip to Kimmit's off he thought to himself.

Vex followed nervously, wondering at the possibilities of escape.
I did it to the tax collectors, I can do it to a bunch of rust-buckets...

Upon entering the main market chamber, Ben realised they had made one fatal mistake. The Robots had forgotten to relieve him of his weapons. He wasn't sure about the rest of his group but hopefully they had repeated the mistake with Jason and Cornelius

Yalun sighed. He curled his hand into a fist.

Ben walked over to one of the stall and sat with his back against it. He took out the broken canary skull and started fiddling with it, wondering if he could fix it.

Vex cleared her throat. "Ben?" she said, turning to him. "Are you alright? Were you hurt in the crash? How is your leg?"

Ben took his attention off the canary skull and looked up at Vex. "I should be okay ma'am, I'm a bit dizzy but it should pass and thanks to you my leg doesn't hurt in the slightest." Ben smiled but there was concern in his voice ""But what about you? you were unconscious when I awoke, are you okay now."

Vex blushed. "My head hurts. I think it's a bruise. And I hit my back hard... but it's nothing I can't walk off."
She stretched. "I'm just relieved that you're alright."

"You should sit down for a while until your head feels better" Ben said trying to remember the last time someone had been glad he was alright. Ben shuffled over to make room for Vex to sit down before lowering his voice and saying "The Robots didn't confiscate your weapons before you got down here did they ?"

Vex bared her pistol and dagger. "I don't need them, regardless." she said, referencing her magic.

Ben smiled to himself
Perhaps we can actually escape
"Who thought you magic" Ben asked curiously, putting the Canaries head back into pocket to be examined later.

"Do I seem normal to you?" Vex said, half joking and half serious. "I studied magic with my mom when I was younger."

Ben thought carefully about what he was going to say before he spoke. "I haven't noticed anything strange about you ma'am, though I do have one question, why was a young woman such as yourself in the Valley alone ?"

"I was there to work." she said, singing a soft do-re-mi scale. "I was a singer in a lougne. More of a bar than anything, but they called it a lounge." she said, humming a little more before stopping herself in her embarrassment. "My parents were taken away a few years ago by tax enforcers in Kimmit. They tried to take me too, but I escaped. I got some money and ran and ended up in Valley."

Ben took in what Vex had to say, He had no response to that. "You have a wonderful voice ma'am" He said with a smile "Did your mother also teach you to sing ?"

Vex shook her head. "I learned on my own. It's simple, really. I sung for an acting troupe before."

Ben was starting to get tired, it had been a long day. He stretched and lay down on the hard, cold ground. "Wake me if anything happens" He told Vex before putting his head on the ground and within seconds he was asleep.

Jason stayed silent, leaning on one of the stalls. He was royaly [&@%!], his chances of going to Kimmit and finding that scoundrel Landon were low.

Cornelius spoke no more, observing and scanning for the slightest chance to kill all of the metal [&@%!] and get the hell out. I've been in worse scrapes.

John marched around in front of al of the prisoners, apart from the group he also had every citizen of Arvel tied up alongside them, "Units, guard the prisoners, i'm sure they are willing to try something, after all, who wouldn't?", he paused and crouched down until he was sitting in front of Cornelius, he chose the one with the most experience as usually they were the ones with the best judgement, "We are looking for a man called Tilltok Finnian", the ground shook slightly at the utterance of the name.

Hooper looked dismayed, "He has been dead for hundreds if not thousands of years you [&@%!]".

John got up from his crouching position, and was now addressing the entire group, "You'd all do best to tell me".

That's probably the person who controlled Hops... Vex thought to herself, sitting next to a sleeping Ben and waiting for someone to try something.
It's not the time to be scared, Vex...
