I was to kidnap healthy humans upon his slightest whim and do so without asking questions. In return he would attest to my character at the royal court, advancing my position within noble society. I would like to claim that I struggled with my decision, but it came swiftly and I accepted wholeheartedly.

Ever since that day I've brought men, women, and children to Brennenburg. I can't remember the numbers, but there were many, perhaps even a hundred. None of whom were ever seen or heard from again.

Tonight the baron invited me and my men down to the wine cellar to celebrate our work. I had my suspicions as we descended the stairs, but he insisted and joined us in a toast. The wine tasted fine and my men drank without restraint.

So begins the punishment for our sins. The baron has locked us up and returned upstairs. Forgive me for what I have done. I was weak and fell into his diabolic ways. My men are screaming, their skin has been pierced by their own tangled bones. I feel my insides revolt against their God given nature. Blood has begun to pour from my eyes and I can no longer...

Ricky walked to the open door next to the staircase whilst looking at the glass he'd found in the room before hoping he'd find some clue to it's purpose. So far his investigations into random vials and glasses had proved fruitless, but he wasn't going to give up. He brushed something from his face as he came to the doorway and looked in.

Thomas stood up and gave the note back to Ricky, keeping and eye on the door that had creaked open.

The glass has a clear, almost unnoticible liquid in it, labled "Orpiment."

The open door leads to a very small and claustrophobic room, cluttered with bottles on shelves, as well as an eloquently written piece of paper that appears to be torn from a book lying on the ground. A bottle with a label and a pale green liquid contained inside is sitting on the rightmost shelf.

Thomas walked into the room, He noticed both the paper and the liquid and picked both up.
He put his lantern down on the shelf and read the note.

The bottle reads "Cuprite."

The note reads as follows:

Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa, the well known erudite, visited Altstadt at the start of the 16th century. He resided in the local inn for a fortnight as he looked for remnants of kingdoms past. During his stay all the prominent members of society paid notice and he is mentioned in many records of the time. One day he went to investigate a burrow in the northwestern glades only to never be seen again. Heinrich is known to have passed away in Grenoble some ten years later. He dismissed the notion of ever visiting Altstadt, which makes you wonder what really happened. Who was this mysterious man who visited the sleepy hamlet in the woods and what happened to him?

Thomas walked out into the main room.
"Hey, Ricky". He spoke loudly, " I found another note, it's an interesting read, and I also found a bottle of cuprite".
Thomas walked back into the room to get his lantern, then he walked back out.

Ricky walked over to the room that had creaked open and opens the door farther, peering in.

Thomas walked up to Ricky and held the note out.

He sees what Thomas saw - cluttered shelves, stains on the ground...but for a split second, he alone hears a sharp and pained scream, sounding like it came from directly above him.

The final door remains closed.

Ricky backs away from the door, deciding the scream can be investigated later. And with more people. He walks over to the last door and opens it.

Thomas walked over to the final door with Ricky, standing behind him, watching his surroundings.

This final door opens into a slightly larger room, with an oil container in one corner and a few bottles scattered around in the left corner, two labeled, but one empty.

The oil container is rather well placed, as both Thomas' and Ricky's lanterns had begun to flicker, as well as William's. Lucinda's and Francis' seem to be fairly well off for now.

"Look, oil". Thomas was delighted, he went over to pick it up.
"Do you want some?" He said to Ricky, Thomas poured the last of the previous container's into his lantern and dropped it on the floor.

Ricky poured enough oil to fill his lantern then went over to see what the three bottles were. He picked up the two with labels.

The two with labels each read "Calamine," the last of the chemicals. Presumably only one is needed, though, anyway.

As Ricky picks up the bottles, the ground begins to shake once more, and this time the oil container falls over, and the empty bottle jerks from his hand and breaks. The same unearthly roar accompanying other appearances of the red goo sounds loudly in their ears.

He struggled to keep to his feet as the ground shook.
"Let's go". He said to Ricky.

Thomas pulled the note from his pocket and handed it to Ricky.
He checked that he had all the ingrediants that he had collected.
"Ok, I'm off to find the others".

The floor continues to shake rather violently. There's a crash and loud shattering as presumably one of the shelves containing bottles topples.
More goo oozes out of the staircase and of the room containing the human remains.
