Imhotep did as he was told, keeping a hold on the demoness, making sure not to hurt her.

The demoness made a low swipe at Imhotep, hitting him in his side, but otherwise stayed guarded, shying back into a wall.

"Ow!" said Imhotep, holding his side as he backed sway from the demoness. "I'm sorry if I hurt you." he looked into her eyes.

The eyes were still very turquoise, piercing and hateful. She looked at Imhotep like there was several none too nice things she wanted to say (or spit) at him.

Imhotep frowned at seeing the hate-filled eyes. He searched the ground for a moment then looked up at Riva. "Could we let her go?" he asked.

Cato had a really confused look on his face now. "Let her go? The whole purpose of this group is to CATCH Demons. not catch them and let them go! Why would you even consider that?" he signed, then he realized once again that no one understood him, and he wrote it down instead.

Imhotep read the paper and said, "Because I don't want her to be hurt, and past the barrier hurts."

Cato raised an eyebrow. "If you aren't willing to hurt a DEMON, for goodness' sake, why did you join this group?"

"Oh, in the name of the Virtues, shut up or a minute." Riva said, crouching down in front of the Demoness.

"Do you have a name?" She asked gruffly.

Everyone except Invictus

The Demoness grumbled with a clearly sarcastic tone even obscured by the gag in her mouth.

Invictus

Invictus suddenly found himself out on a small circular plaza within the market, lined with small cafés. Most of them were not that crowded, giving Invictus ample opportunity to notice the brightly coloured, frilly-clothes-clad, attractively pudgy girl sitting at a table in the middle of scoffing down a whole apple pie, standing a bit out in comparison to the other patrons, mostly dining on some kind of salad or similar light dish.

Riva reddened, and snatched the sock away.

Riva, Imhotep, Alida, Timon, Cato

The demoness glared at Riva with animosity, taking a few deep breaths before opening her mouth, showing her sharp incisors. At this close range, they could also spot two horns, one on each of her temples, skin coloured and barely a centimeter long.

The demoness, however, were completely ignoring Riva, focusing instead on Imhotep, trying to kick at him again.

"[&@%!] off! Why would I want your pity? Why's that all there's left for me?" she hissed at him, glaring at the angels in turn. "Why? Why can't I get to be in the sun? Get anything? You have it all! I get nothing!"

Imhotep dodged the kick, but lost his balance as he did so. He fell on his butt.

Timon jumped back, but then gingerly approached Imhotep and offered a hand.

"Thanks," Imhotep said, accepting the hand and pulling on it to help himself up.

"Might as well make myself useful somehow," Timon muttered.

Imhotep stood and nodded at Timon. "You were very useful just now," he said, trying to pay the angel a compliment.

"Oh, shush." Riva said, pushing the Demoness back a bit. "We know next to nothing about what you really are. Enlighten us."

Invictus ignored her. She was neither a male nor did she have ginger hair. His mission was to find Illianos' brother, not look at slightly overweight people munching of food.

Timon, Alida, Riva, Imhotep and Cato

The demoness laughed, a shrill, sickly sounding laugh.

"You want me to tell you what I am?" she said, a mocking, haughty undertone appearing. "As if you wouldn't deny everything I said to you! Why should you believe me? You and your stupid, deceived-ass buddies can all go [&@%!] each other in a skip!"

Invictus

There appeared to be no exits from the plaza, and Invictus had no idea how he arrived there, he suddenly realised.

Riva narrowed her eyes. "You sure you want us to drag you off and dump you underground?"

As Alida kept watch she began to lose herself in thought and before long she was reminded of Invictus and the pursuit of the giant. She began to panic, after all this demoness had been trouble enough whereas Invictus was alone and up against a much bigger threat. She indiscreetly made her way back to the hidden group. "Please could one of you come with me to find Invictus?" she asked quietly.

Cato looked at the other angels, then the demon. He thought for a moment, before deciding that the best course of action for him was to get away from the demon and his group. He walked over to Alida, and wrote, "I'll go with you I suppose."

For the first time since she began looking for Imhotep she regained her trademark smile. "Thank you. Last time I saw him we were following an odd looking red-haired giant of an angel." She paused before leading on to see if he understood.

He followed her, and noticed her pause. "Something wrong?" he wrote. On his magical sheet of paper that never runs out of room.
