I am calm. And respect Gideon. I don't want him replaced. I am being considerate. But please, save the lectures.

Anyway, yep, pause. At your convenience, Master Gideon.

A scream on the streets shattered the atmosphere, startling the inn's occupants to life. Several of the regulars drew weapons and started towards the door.

Dal felt a breeze. It hit him fresh in the face. Could that be the winds of change? he thought to himself. He looked around the marketplace again, searching for anything he had missed.

A woman, not ten feet from the orc, suddenly collapsed, a crimson light draining from her body. A pale elf, swathed in a dark robe, stood over her, blood dripping from his mouth. He hissed and hurled himself at Dal.

Dal's first instinct was to try and help the woman. He went forward as fast as an Orc as large as himself could. He shouted at the man, "What did you do?" A Heal Other spell was beginning to take shape in his right hand.

Ra'zhar instinctively threw a lightning bolt at the man who hurled himself at Dal with his left hand, his sword ready to go in his right.

The elf staggered from the force of Ra'zahr's spell, but he soon recovered and sprang again at Dal, fangs bared.

Ra'zhar bared his teeth and threw another bolt, approaching with his sword.

Dal was surprised by the shock spell going by him, snapping him back to the immediacy of danger he was in. With his left hand he cast Lesser Ward, pointing it at the man attacking, and tried to continue on to the woman.

Do'Krin awoke in a daze, an elf's pale visage lunging at an orc filled his sight; hefting his shield, he ran to the orc's side and raised his shield, ready to defend.
His eyes squinted instinctively as a bolt of lightning flew past and turned his head to the side, "Get her to safety before you try to heal her, khajiit will protect you."

Irri swore violently, as the attack suddenly broke the normal buzz of chatter in the square. She jumped up, still barefoot, pulling her axe out of the loop on her belt.

"What in Oblivion...!" She muttered, running toward the scuffle, axe raised and ready.

The elf gestured, hissed a command, and the woman sprang to life. She stumbled towards Dal and Do'Krin clumsily, arms outstretched.

....

Another pale being, this one a human, stepped in Irriwen's path. He lunged at her throat, grasping fingers snatching at her tender neck.

Irri didn't hesitate, swinging her axe directly at the monster's outstretched arm, as she leaned back to throw him off balance.

Irri's blow struck true, and the blade of her axe sunk deep into the human's arm. He screamed and staggered back, the elf's weapon still lodged in his limb.

Seeing the healing spell was pointless, Dal reached for his axe with his right hand. He kept his ward up with his left and slashed at the elf with his right.

Irri released the axe, but not before delivering a hard, barefooted kick to the man's shins.

As he stumbled back, Irri drew her knife, staring into the creature's eyes. "Ready to die for good, you abomination?" She spat, her dark brown eyes alight with hate.

The elf was struck with the axe, but he easily shook off the blow and began to move backwards. The woman, or her corpse, at least, smashed into Dal's ward, knocking him back.

....

The "abomination" grinned maliciously, his eyes shining a feral gleam. There was a flash of light, and the being, however human it had been before, was something wholly different.

An ugly, grey, bestial creature stood before Irri, at least seven feet tall and with powerful wings sprouted from its back. A swift motion, a blaze of wicked talons, and Irri was hurled into the air, a trio of wounds across her chest.

Dal stumbled backwards from the blow to his ward. He regained his footing just in time to see the flash of light and the transformation the man underwent. His eyes grew even wider when he saw Irri struck. He turned to try and break her fall, the ward gone, the healing spell in its place.

Brandoril awoke from his nap with a start. He rushed over to the battle, unsure of what was going on. When he saw the great winged creature, he instinctively hurled a firebolt at it.

Ra'zhar used both of his hands to overcharge his lightning bolt spell, yelling as he threw the spell. He could at least draw the creature's ire from Dal and Irri.

J'Kavar had been talking with some nearby merchants when the attack happened, he turned snarling toward the abomination and pulled his bow and unleashed two arrows at the creature.
"Fall to me beast!" he yelled as he fired.
