Leniel looked sternly, "Yes and shadows can light the Darkness. You need to lighten up, it's not just about killing. I've killed, plenty of people. And you know what, I laugh. Kill those that hurt others, in that I find pleasure. It lets me laughed because my life can be Hell in a hand basket, but I'm still going to pull out roses. So laugh, that's a hobby. Enjoy yourself. Put sorrows behind you. Don' forget the past, put you can't live there."

The team rode on for some time, a storm rolled in causing it to rain. The te decided to let their horses rest in the shade of some trees to wait out the storm and resume.

"Who wants something to eat?" Nalfein asked.

Revak jumped up saying,"Yes! Some food would be great right now!"

Nalfein took some oatcakes from his pack and gave one to Revak. They had dried blue berries and apples in them. "Enjoy."

Revak wolfed it down ravenously, when he was done he remarked,"Ahh...You know? While I was a thief, we would only be able to get something like this if we were lucky and got a deal at a market." He lay down on the grass, looking up to the sky.

Raindrops hit Revak in the face, they were calm and warm as if they heavens themselves were taking a moment to breathe.

Nalfein crossed his legs and leaned against a tree.... "Well.... Go on, I want to hear more about these good old times." Nalfein said wanting to hear a story.

"Well, you see," he began,"I worked alone at first. But I wasn't really doing to well. Eventually, I just lay down in an alley, waiting to die. That's when Scipio found me. Scipio took me to a hideout for thieves. They were basically a guild or a family. After an okay from their leader, Romulus, I became part of them. We worked together, and I was doing pretty well. Well, like I said, we didn't have the best. Mostly, because we never stole much. Just silver or copper pieces here, a gold piece there. But, all in all, it didn't matter much, we were pretty happy together. And I thought bad luck would never strike me again. At least until I got caught...." Revak trailed off.

"And once again we arrive at that same moment, that same memory that makes you a mystery." Nalfein gazed off, remembering his own epic. "Well at least you found a family and had a good time of it, those are the best kinds of memories." Nalfein said smiling.

Leniel, stood there. He listened to the store and sighed, No interesting tales here. I'll keep my secrets.

A small bird landed in front of Leniel and looked at him quizzically. It was blue and made light chirping noises, innocent and free.

Leniel surround the bird with shadows, ready to kill it, but stopped. You will thank me, little bird. I bet you will leave now. To fulfill a wish that would have gone unfinished, without me.

The bird simply chirped in surprise and flew back a few feet, it kept looking with its eyes looking right into Leniel's for a moment and then it flew away into the sky.

"Were you going to kill that poor bird?" Nalfein asked looking at Leniel with an eyebrow arched.

Leniel looked at it, "No. It only thought it would die. To truly live is to die. Now he will do both. Though it is an animal, it looks to be one of some degree of intelligence. I think it understands."

"Maybe, maybe not, I tried delving into the mind of a partridge once....." Nalfein said not being one for serious talk most of the time.

Furin was sitting on a random rock, angry. He inspected the members of his group, especially the elves.

Glor strode over to Furin. "Seething, brother?"

Belli sat down and leaned against a tree, he looked up to the sky and his thoughts went back to that day, the first scar, and the second.

Furin looked at Glor than back at the others: "You could call it that."

Percival was unrolled his bedrolls under a tree. Glor nodded.

Revak sat up and walked over to Belli. "You alright, Belli?" he asked sitting down next to him. "You're acting oddly. If it's that memory of yours, maybe..." Revak shook his head,"Maybe you just have to forget. Don't dwell on it and it'll fade away, hopefully."

Belli did a shift. "I'm okay." He said animatedly. He seemed to have forgotten, but the scene was still playing in his mind, upon a loop.

Nalfein sat on the roots of a tree, and yawned. He took a sip from a skin of water and looked around. "Any happy stories?" Nalfein asked trying to shake the gloom.

Leniel nodded, "I can tell you the story of how I meet a dwarf, a elf, and a queen. All in one night."

At Nalfien's question, Furin's mood got slightly better: "I got one, a tail of glory, courage and fountains of blood!"

Nalfein looked at him expectantly, waiting to hear the story."I would love hear the story leniel. And you too Furin, I love a fine bloody tale."
