Naomi crept out warily, keeping an eye about her surroundings.
"I'm here for it, yes..." she said, twitching as she nervously kept her finger by the trigger of the sniper rifle. Brave as she was trying to be, she was still completely terrified. She had never done anything like this when solo.

Callan took a deep breath, and quickly stepped out of his nook.

He was a tall man, in his mid-twenties or early thirties; it was hard to tell. He wore pre-war biking attire; blue jeans, black boots and a black leather jacket, with a matching dark brown mane of hair that went down to his shoulders.

He didn't raise his pistol; there was no way he could get everyone if this turned out to be an ambush after all. He looked from person to person, as if waiting for someone else to say or do something.

"Ummm... Hi?" Naomi said to break the ice, lowering her sniper rifle only slightly. "I guess we're all here for the radio message..." she said, keeping her rifle pointed at no one to avoid provoking anyone.

Callan said nothing at first. Then he put his .22 back into his jacket. He had decided there would be no attack. Not in the very near future, at least.

"Seems like it," he finally said.

Faust didn't say anything. He rested his shotgun on his lap.

Naomi swallowed and hoisted her grandfather's rifle away, letting it hang horizontally from her backside around her tailbone. She rose from her crouching stance and stood as tall as her minuscule frame would let her.

She trained her eyes on Faust. She was raised on the idea that ghouls were people too, but it was still a little hard to look at them from time to time.

"We should go somwehere where we're covered," Callan said. It wasn't really a suggestion, but rather a statement of fact. He'd do it regardless of what the others decided.

Without waiting for a response, he moved back towards the wall, where he could see the entire plaza, and put his hand in his jacket.

"Why is this place dangerous?" asked Faust. "I didn't see anyone on the way here."

Naomi nodded in silent agreement, following him while turning her head, looking at the rest of the group to assess them. The ghoul seemed to be the most interesting; after all, ghouls lived for quite a while. Who knows what kind of stuff he knows? He could even have been born before the war. she thought, incredibly interested.

"Anywhere is dangerous, really." Naomi said to him. "You never know when something might jump out and get ya." she added, recalling the stories of the ferocity of wasteland cougars and other animals.

"This place is more dangerous than other places," Callan said. "We don't want to be here when night falls."

Tink lingered by the door of the townhouse, her eyes flashing between the disparate characters that were emerging. Her dark brown hair extended down past her shoulders, framing her narrow, pale face, small nose, and dark brown eyes. Her narrow frame was dwarfed by the doorframe she stood just beyond.

Gathering up her resolve, and resting her small hand on the .32 revolver that was stuffed into the waistband of her jeans, she took a few more tentative steps forward. "I'm here because of the radio message." She declared, her voice steady despite her obvious unease.

"What happens at night? Monsters? Bandits? Both?" asked Faust.

Callan shrugged. "Something," he simply said. He nodded at the newcomer, and gestured for her to come to them, to the churche's wall.

Brown slung his rifle onto his back using its strap and wordlessly moved into the churchyard. However, he maintained a wide berth between himself and the shotgun-wielding ghoul. Apparently satisfied the group had no interest in murdering him, he seemed to lose interest in them, and instead his eye gazed at the church and its steeple as he pulled out and lit a cigarette.

"Maybe cougars. Or mutants. Or bandits, or raiders!" she said, remembering her very few encounters with the dangers of the wasteland. She usually had a mercenary or two protecting whoever she was working with, so this was definitely a change of pace.

She dusted off her leather armor and ran a hand through her shoulder-length hair, and then walked inside of the church.

At the man's suggestion, Tink cautiously walked closer, her eyes jumping between the people-or, more specifically, their intimidating weapons.

"I'd rather not be here to find out," Callan said. "If the sun starts going down, I'm goint away."

"Right..." said Faust. He stood up and slung the shotgun across his back. He rubbed his remaining eye and took another swill of whiskey. "Name's Faust by the way." He headed inside.

He found that the door was locked and barricaded from the inside.

"I tried when I got here," Callan informed him. "No way in."

Tink looked around Faust at the door, feeling little immediate reason to introduce herself. "Why would they summon us here if they locked the door?" She mumbled to herself, in the manner of a person much more used to talking to herself than to others.

"Can't you kick it in? Pick the lock? Blow it up?" Naomi suggested as she looked at the door. "How hard is it barricaded?"

She turned to Faust. "Naomi Gilead. A pleasure!" she said with a nod. It wasn't really a pleasure since she barely knew the man, but she decided to be polite anyway.

"I don't think we're going inside the church," Callan said.

A small woman, only 14, walked up to the church, alone. Her angular face was dusty with soot from Providence, her blue-grey eyes observing the scene. Her black hair, tied back in a tight ponytail, flopped casually as she walked. The girl wore a blood red t-shirt under a tight-fitting black leather jacket, complete with tattered jeans and hiking boots.

"Have no fear, Aella is here!" She announced as she grew close to everybody else. "I do not come alone, either. Me and my buddy Ty are here to explore. It's what we do, learn new things by exploring the wastes. Ty's around here somewhere."

Tink spun around, regarding the newcomer suspiciously.

Smoke swirled around Brown as he listened to the chatter. He tore his eyes away from the church and observed the newcomer coolly, then checked the time on his Pip-Boy.
