The doors to the throne room burst open. The sounds of the tranquil rainforest surrounding the palace filled the room. The palace itself was built upon a gigantic tree at the center of the realm of Euron. A small white-headed capuchin Monkan entered the throne room, followed by two chimpanzee bodyguards. The capuchin and his bodyguards were wearing sharp black suits with red ties and shades that hid their eyes. The capuchin was Tux - the Duke of Norta and King Hanuman Acunasti's primal advisor.

"Your Majesty." Tux said in his extremely deep voice, bowing to his superior.

"Well, well, well..." Acunasti replied, tapping his fingers on the armrest of his golden throne. "Duke Tux! I wasn't expecting you this evening."

"You rarely expect me, King Acunasti." Tux stated. "I am here with important news regarding the human rebels in Norta."

Acunasti's eyes widened. "Yes? Were the rebels killed!? Did they get what they deserved!?"

"Every one of them was burned alive. Their men, their women, their children, and their pets - all of them are dead. Their ashes were launched into space. You will never even have to think about them again."

"Wondrous! Foolish humans...They'll show me respect now!"

"Yes, they will, King Acunasti." Tux said. "If they don't, we'll just kill a few more hundreds of them. But that is not all I came here to inform you, sire."

"Really?"

"The Swelling Stars recieved a signal from space about 4.86 hours ago. They immediately forwarded it to us."

Acunasti cocked an eyebrow. "And what does this signal concern?"

"We've got the Tong and the Council of Lords working on the decryption of the message right now. But we are sure of one thing - we are not alone in this galaxy."

"Well then..." Acunasti said with a stern expression. "I suppose it is time to eat a banana."

"Agreed." Tux replied.

King Acunasti pulled two bananas from a large metal case beside the throne. He tossed one of them to Tux. They began eating the bananas in the most formal of formal ways. "I've got it!" Acunasti said, chewing on part of the banana. "Let's send an expedition into space!"

"An encellent idea, sire." Tux said with a bow, finishing his banana.

El Presidente Khan was busily studying his maps of the colonies when a soldier rushed into his room. He stopped only a few feet away from his desk and silently waited to be addressed. Khan was in no hurry to hear news so he just let the soldier stand there. After some time, he looked up from his desk and said, "What is it?"

The soldier clicked his boot heels and saluted, "Sir! Satellites around Tartarus have picked up a heavily encrypted signal of foreign origin."

"What do you mean by 'Foreign origin'?" Khan tried not to show his confusion.

The soldier bowed and replied, "Sir! These signals do not come from any known source in Darkovian space. They are foreign."

Khan nearly jumped out of his seat upon hearing this. Could it really be true? Aliens? "Holy Gods! Send a message to Inquisitor Kestral! Tell him to investigate immediately. I want that signal decrypted now!"

"And," the Inquisitor was instructing a group of soldiers, "1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2, 1-2, and you take a step forward, aim and make violent motions with the but of your gun!" He was demonstrating with his hands, "And if there was some peasant in front of you, he'd be dead on the floor! And that is how begin dinner." He saw a messenger run to him. "Oh bloody hell, is this from my wife?"

"No sir!" The messenger handed him a crafted Darkovian PDA, "An alien encrypted signal!"
"Let me see!" Kestral violently took the PDA. "Herculean Mk Ultra triple T encryption techniques." He swiped his hands over it and made complicated gestures. "Someone wasn't minding their back-port DDS sub-routines..." He continued on his intricate motions of hand swipes. "And then someone also forgot that the Preg-Ultha methods have a fatal error if you ask them pleasant how their day was..." He examined the screen and punched in random numbers. "And the key is: 02 03 A4 FB DE F8 5C 7A BA 3A 3B A2 90 91 42. Child's play. Send this to the Darkovian master and tell him that my mother is sending him roses."
"Uh," the messenger was surprised, "Alright sir, I shall relay the message."

"Alright!" Kestral started and looked at his soldiers. "Now, in order to ask for bottle of Cnidarian blood, you do this..." And he went on with his day.

Commander Argonaut of the Presidential Guard walked hastily to El Presidente Khan's room. Before he entered he polished off a spot on his shiny armor plate and adjusted one of the many medals on his chest. He carefully opened the door and entered.

"Commander Argonaut comes with a report, Sir Khan!" he said. One could tell by the look of his face it wasn't good news.

Name of civilization: The Archaeron(ar-KAY-ron) Confederacy

System: Ternary star system, twin suns sharing a single orbit around the main sun, while rotating around each other.

Homeworld: Archaeron, fourth planet in-system, with 5 moons, 3 of which are tidally locked

Job Title: The Most Honorable Tiras Te'Jed, Prime Adjudicator of Archaeron, Her Colonies and Territories

Description: Cloaked within the bounds of a blue/white nebula, the Archaeron system is delicately balanced; the massive radiation produced by its three stars buffered by the nebulous gases. Archaeron itself receives further buffering from its five moons, which serve to keep the planet in a steady orbit which allows for a mild climate that covers nearly the whole planet. Amid the low mountain ranges and vast marshlands of the planet's three main continents have sprung up cities, many half sunken in the earth to further increase capacity. The Archaer(ar-KAY-er), as it's people are called, are an extremely secretive people, nearly to the point of paranoia. Though humanoid, they possess four fingered hands and four toed feet, with two toes of each foot facing the opposite direction, much like a bird's. Their slick, salamander like skin, ranging in hue from lime green to deep violet, is kept covered nearly from head to toe by snug fitting suits of soft cloth, complete with hoods and half-face masks. Despite their desire for personal secrecy, their society is a true democracy, with their government headed by a group of thirteen elected members known as Adjudicators. The Council of Adjudicators is "lead" by a Prime Adjudicator, distinguished by his ability to veto any government actions not directly supported by the people. The one fly in the otherwise just and equal ointment is the island of Percharos(per-KA-rohs), an isolated land founded and run by degenerates, criminals and political troublemakers. Four of the five moons of Archaeron have been colonized in some fashion, mostly military installations, mines and astronomy labs. Three additional planets in the system have also been colonized: the second planet from the sun, a harsh volcanic world continuously cloaked in toxic gas; the fifth planet, an oceanic world teeming with exotic life forms; and the sixth planet, a cold, frozen world inhabited primarily for the mining of its large mineral deposits. Each colony world possesses its own Council of Adjudicators, numbering 6 per planet, with the Prime Adjudicator retaining his functions as a tie-breaker and intermediary.

Spoiler:
I shall try this... but I'm still maintaining TDOK fully.

Name of Civilization: Yusarian Nation

Job Title: Council of Three, The Houses

Description of Civilization: The planet of Yusaris is known for maintaining 100 houses, strong political factions with specific duties, throughout their time. The Council of Three are made of up the King's house and his bloodline, the most powerful house and the House of Science, Technology, Medical Science and Biology. The King makes the final judgement on everything, yet the other two Councilman are his personal advisors and governers over Yusaris' two colony planets. Uri and Deci. The Kings like to pretend that they have an equal rule between the Council, but the King really has total power.

Breltin House: King's House (Councilman: Lord Irving Breltin)
Terrous House of Xenology: Currently Strongest House (Councilman: Aaron Terrous, Governer of Uri)
Gerronius House: Science, Technology, Medical and Biology House (Councilman: Nylon Gerronius, Governer of Deci)

Race: Yusarins: humanoid-like race, vary widely in height, light blue skin with large, round dark eyes. They also have large wings, like moths, with black or gray hair. Average life span: 300 Human Years

Race: Sharas: Jungle Cat people found in the jungle of Uri. They had a very primitive culture and technology until the Yusarins arrived at their home planet. Now the Shara people are pushing for equal rights in the Yusarin Government and even their own house. They have currently been denied. (No, these are NOT Khajiit, they have black or brown fur, and a human-like face.

Millitary: Obviously, the ability to fly could help in battle with those that cannot. The Yusarins don't have much knowledge in that, however, except for when they battle with rogue Sharas. The Yusarins have guns that are like concentrated beams of light that burn whatever it touches.
Sharas fighting with the Yusarins are excellent ground units, using their claws as weapons along with long katanas and cleavers. They either have leather armor or no armor.
====================
The Council sat in the grand chambers in Galevar - Yusaris' capital. A short Yusarin approached them, face down.

"Announce yourself." Lord Irving Breltin boomed. The Yusarin cowered.
"Lords... I am lowly servant in House Isiranis, Wandering Space House Three. We believe that our Squad Unit 03-A1 picked up a strange signal on a meteorite... an alien signal."

Breltin scoffed. "We know of the Shara, grunt."

"N-no, my Lord."
"NO? What do you mean, no?"
"My Lord... we believe that it holds information. About another alien race. Outside our system."
"It is common knowledge that there is no life outside our system."
"But we have reason to believe... we think..."
"You THINK? Why do you... think?"
"The signal is encrypted. The Gerronius house may be able to decode it, but it will take time."

Breltin looked to Councilman Nylon. "Go to work on it. One race outside our system... may mean many."

Spoiler:
^ When science was mentioned, I couldn't resist. I hope that's all needed for info.

A cool breeze wafted through the open window of the Council of Adjudicators' chamber in the capital of Raschai(rah-SKY), bringing with it the scent of spring flowers and fresh rain. The Council was assembled for a weekly update on the affairs of the Confederacy, with little new to discuss beyond the status quo. As the Council conferred in hushed tones, a page slipped through a small door at one end of the dome-shaped room, stopped first by guards posted at the entrance, and then again just before stepping up to the table at which the councilors sat, both times scanned by security devices. He strode quickly but nervously over to Tiras Te'Jed and whispered something into his ear, simultaneously producing a small computer pad.

"What?! Why has it taken this long? Why weren't we informed before this?" demanded an irate Tiras, glancing over the pad in his hand

"Well, sir, um, stellography only confirmed their scans a short time ago..."

"And you're sure this is accurate?"

"Absolutely, sir."

"Hmm. I see. Thank you. Leave us."

"At once, Your Honor."

After waiting for the page to slip out the same door he came through, Tiras stood, and addressed the remaining Council members.

"Adjudicators assembled, I have just learned some stunning news. At 0431 yesterday morning, a stellography station on the moon of Iosa picked up a heavily scrambled signal. Though its precise point of origin was obscured by a solar emanation, our scientists have confirmed that the linguacode, encryption method, and direction of origin conform to no known Archaeron installation or colony."

"Wait a minute" said Krepa, an elderly councilwoman as she rose to address Tiras, "Are you saying what I think you are?"

"Yes, I am. The signal was, without a doubt, from outside our solar system. It was sent...by aliens."

Tiras spoke the last word with a tinge of dread in his voice.

"Therefore, all events considered, we must vote on the matter of restarting Project Icon. All in favor?"

A long pause issued before the first Councilor spoke, but the rest fell quickly in line behind him.

"....Aye."
"Aye."
"Aye."
"Aye."
"Aye."
"Aye."
"Aye."
"Aye."
"Aye."
"Aye."
"Aye."
"Aye."

"Motion passed. Guardsman!" Tiras called toward one of the six guards in the room, "I need you to relay a message."

"Aye, sir. What may I convey, and to whom?"

"Take a message to Commander Gervin. Tell him Project Icon is to be re-engaged with all deliberate speed." Tiras paused for a moment, considering "And tell him to double the workforce and resources on Project Optic."

"Aye, sir. At once." The guardsman crossed his arms over his chest and bowed before turning a quick about face and leaving the room.

"Project Optic?" said Councilor Metis, his voice betraying his relative youth, "Are you sure we need to?"

"We have no idea yet what the message conveys, nor what the intentions of its senders are. I think the situation calls for all necessary prudence, don't you?"

(( I wouldn't think so. Only a bit of information has been released about the story (signals from space that are encrypted) so just play off that. I'd imagine it's open until the story itself continues further. Ask Dark Lord to make sure since it's his RP.

I was hoping for more people who weren't in control of worlds and/or spies. ))

"It's not the rebels, Sir." Said Argonaut. "It's the Rancor, it died this morning."
The Commander took a brief pause before he continued. "Apparently it couldn't digest the prisoners we fed it with and died from constipation."

"You mean Steve, Sir? With utmost pleasure." said the Commander with a devious grin, fondling the gun hanging by his side.
His expression suddenly changed to concerned. "Um, Sir. It seems guard Leopold is dead as well." He pointed at the tangle of limbs and clothing lying in the far corner of the room.

"I'll send guard Broflovsky to replace him at once, Sir." The Commander made a quick and elegant bow before exiting the room with his a few long steps.
