can i stick my to always faithful generation 1 moves? ^_^

Of course you can.

@General: I just realized that I used Kingdra for calculating your team instead of Seadra, like you said. The total is still over by thirty points, but you can fix the problem by replacing Seadra with Ditto.

Okay, so we've established everyone's teams. (Mine will be Swampert, Breloom, and Xatu.) I'd really like to discuss other aspects of the roleplay, though, like going into more detail about the story, deciding on a combat system, etc.

For combat, it should be pretty straight forward, we all have a good idea how much damge each move does, But are we going Roleplay or d20? And i don't know how we're going to put speed and evasiveness in there

I have the poll for determining the combat system.

For speed, the person with the higher speed gets the first attack in a matchup, very similar to how the game has it. Using increased priority attacks would let you move twice in a row, but of them, only ExtremeSpeed has any sort of respectable base power, and it's a pretty uncommon move.

For evasiveness, every attack very conveniently has its accuracy as a multiple of 5, which I can use a D20 for. As for moves like Double Team, each time you use one, your opponent becomes 11% less likely to hit you in the games (the percent is multiplied, so for example, a 50% accurate move would become 43.5% accurate), which I'll simplify to 10% on the RP (and it would be subtracted, so a 50% accurate move would become 40% accurate).

My team is: Blastoise, Bulbasaur and Dragonite.

The d20 system would probably work best, but it's too much...work? I dunno, I'd just find it annoying. The RP system feels better, but it'd be overpowered.
Maybe, if RP system, we can post moves to videogmer314, and he decides the outcome?
I dunno.

I don't really care about the work involved. It really wouldn't be that hard, actually. And if everyone wants to use the RP system, I could just use the "You WILL get hurt" rule.

Sorry about the double post.

Anyway, if we were to use the d20 system, this is what a sample battle would look like.

Spoiler:
Code:
Team A:
   lv40 Swampert (waterfall, earthquake, ice punch, hammer arm) Torrent: Water = 1.5x @ < 33% HP
      160 health, 44 attack, 36 defense, 34 sp. atk, 36 sp. def, 24 speed
   lv40 Skarmory (steel wing, aerial ace, night slash, swords dance) Sturdy: Immune to OHKO moves.
      132 health, 32 attack, 56 defense, 16 sp. atk, 28 sp. def, 28 speed
vs.
Team B:
   lv40 Typhlosion (flamethrower, thunder punch, rollout, dig) Blaze: Fire = 1.5x @ < 33% HP
      142 health, 33 attack, 31 defense, 43 sp. atk, 34 sp. def, 40 speed
   lv40 Venusaur (solar beam, sludge bomb, sunny day, ingrain) Overgrow: Grass = 1.5x @ < 33% HP
      146 health, 32 attack, 32 defense, 40 sp. atk, 40 sp. def, 33 speed

=================

Typhlosion/NRM  NRM/Venusaur
[0000000000]    [0000000000]
            vs.
Swampert/NRM    NRM/Skarmory
[0000000000]    [0000000000]

Typhlosion uses Thunder Punch! (=> Skarmory)
It's super effective! ((33 * 75 / (2 * 56)) * 2.0) = 44 damage! (Skarmory's health: 88/132)
Breakdown: ((Typhlosion's attack * move's power / (2 * Skarmory's defense)) * Type effectiveness modifier)

Venusaur uses Sunny Day!
The sunlight became harsher than normal.

Skarmory uses Swords Dance!
Skarmory's Attack modifier is now +2. (x2 = 64 attack)

Swampert uses Earthquake! (=> everyone)
It doesn't affect Skarmory... (33 * 75 / (2 * 56)) * 0.0 = 0 damage! (Skarmory: 88/132)
It's super effective! (44 * 100 / (2 * 31)) * 2.0 = 141 damage! (Typhlosion: 1/142)
It's not very effective... (44 * 100 / (2 * 32)) * 0.5 = 34 damage! (Venusaur: 112/146)

=================

The sun is shining.

Typhlosion/NRM  NRM/Venusaur
[|---------]    [0000000---]
            vs.
Swampert/NRM    NRM/Skarmory
[0000000000]    [000000|---]

Typhlosion uses Flamethrower! (=> Swampert)
It's not very effective... ((43 * 95 / (2 * 36)) * 0.5) * 1.5 * 1.5 = 63 damage! (Swampert: 97/160)
Swampert was burned!

Venusaur uses Ingrain!
Venusaur dug its roots into the ground!

Skarmory uses Aerial Ace! (=> Typhlosion)
((64 * 60 / (2 * 31)) * 1.0) = 61 damage! (Typhlosion: 0/142)
Typhlosion fainted!

Swampert uses Ice Punch!
It's super effective! ((22 * 75 / (2 * 32)) * 2.0) = 51 damage! (Venusaur: 61/146)

=================

The sun is shining.
Venusaur absorbed nutrients with its roots! (+9 = 70/146)
Swampert is hurt by its burn! (-20 = 77/160)

Typhlosion/FNT  NRM/Venusaur
[----------]    [0000------]
            vs.
Swampert/BRN    NRM/Skarmory
[00000-----]    [000000|---]

Venusaur uses Solar Beam! (=> Swampert)
It's super effective! ((40 * 120 / (2 * 36)) * 4.0) = 266 damage! (Swampert: 0/160)
Swampert fainted!

Skarmory uses Aerial Ace!
It's super effective! ((64 * 60 / (2 * 32)) * 2.0) = 120 damage! (Venusaur: 0/146)
Venusaur fainted!

=================

The sun is shining.

Typhlosion/FNT  FNT/Venusaur
[----------]    [----------]
            vs.
Swampert/FNT    NRM/Skarmory
[----------]    [000000|---]

Team A wins!

And by the way, the [000000|---] things are my bad attempt at making a visual health bar. Yes, I simplified most of the mechanics, but you can still use your advanced strategies.

So, what do you guys think?

Like I said, I do enough maths in school. This would require constant seeing over by the GM and could easily confuse some people. I think we should stay with the ordinary RP way.

The only thing you would need to post is the attack you're using, and I wouldn't keep posting the math every time, just the damage.

Actually, scratch that. We're doing normal RP combat. Once I get the specifics of the story down, we can start.

And yes, I know about the double post.

Is anyone still interested in this? I have the story down, although I'm going to introduce it as the RP goes along.
