Randall was about to say, Who're you calling filth?! but then remembered that he was presently standing in a sewer.

So instead, he just retorted, "Do you want us to shoot you? Start talking, bucko."

Rashmi looked aglow with anger. "I am a non-violent person, but I have seen what you monsters have done to this land. Civilians. Innocents. You kill them, destroy their homes, destroy families. I would counsel peace, where you would tear it apart, tear apart men and women and children, and squat in the mud like a beast. You will tell us anything of use, or you will die in the mud, as befits monsters." Then, she really was aglow--her palms, at least, with some sort of malevolent energy.

The Novar growled. "Do not judge us, old woman. We invade because we must. I fight for my family. Your lives are the means to an end."

"Is that all people are to you? Prick. People here have families too." said Herbert. "But if you even want to see yours again I suggest you talk. Or I'll do something worse than kill you, I'll suck out your soul and make you my thrall, just like I did your friend." threatened Herbert. He couldn't really suck out souls but the Novar didn't know that. He was hoping the man would have a superstitious fear of necromancers.

"I'll make him talk," Logan raised the sword.

"Belarys will protect me," The Novar murmured. "You cannot steal my soul from the Dragon God's embrace."

"You sure about that?" said Herbert. "Cause it didn't help your comrades. I can feel them inside me. I think they can hear what I hear, see what I see. Not that they can do anything with it. They're trapped. Always will be."

"Can I just stab him in the leg," Logan said, "Always made them talk before." Logan was speaking in general. obviously.

Griffith drew her dagger and gave an odd smile. "You know something, when every night is a night mare.. You see some stuff that must be possible, and I've got a lot of years of these nightmares in my head, want me to make one for you?" She asked the Novar, crouching down so she's at eye level. "And not even your Dragon God will be able to see your soul."

The Novar bared his teeth and growled at Griffith. "My people will avenge me."

"People won't give a crap. You'll just be another statistic for historians to look over." said Herbert.

Rashmi's patience continued to dwindle. She pressed telekinetic energy against the sides of the Novar's head, hoping to cause him enough pain to get him to talk. Her conscience nipped at her heart, but she pushed it aside. This is war. These creatures are killing innocents. I need to do whatever I can.

The Novar gripped his head. "Get out, get out, get out!" The Novar shouted. "You witch! You Ae'karonnis!" He cursed in his native tongue. At the sound of the word Rashmi got a mental image of female Novar dancing around a fire, chanting something, practicing forbidden magic. It was possible Rashmi could divine other snippets of knowledge from the Novar in his weakened state.

Closing her eyes so as to deepen her concentration, Rashmi throbbed a little more pain into the Novar's head, before trying to pry into his mind.

Rashmi only got muddled and confused thoughts. Perhaps she could ask the others to think of some good questions to focus her scrying on before the Novar totally broke.

"I'm reading his mind." Rashmi said, to nobody in particular. "What should I look for?" She had only one idea of her own; she tried to look for knowledge of the High Councilors Constance Vaughan and Caidan Manhaus, if they had yet been found by the Novar, or if the Novar had any clue where they may be.

"Why are you here?" Logan asked.

Rashmi found nothing of the Councilors, other than they were still being hunted and were probably hiding in one of the hundreds of buildings. The Novar refused to answer Logan's question, but Rashmi saw images of crowded streets, Novar dying in alleyways and rampant crime in an unidentified city.

"Bustling streets...Novar dying in alleyways...So much crime...Where is this?" Rashmi asked. She probed further.

She also tried to find any evidence or whereabouts of the dragon riders, or more specifically, Kathkul the Redeemer.

"Any other suggestions?"

Rashmi knew the city was where the Novar was born, where his family lived. She saw dragons flying in the mountains and a select few riding them. The Novar's mind was weakening from the probing, and he would soon be of no use.

When Rashmi thought of the Redeemer, she stumbled back as if struck. She saw a force of death and hatred, more hatred than she had ever felt before or would ever feel again... it was impossible to imagine what was the cause behind the rage of the Redeemer.

"Bah. Magic schmagic. Who says she isn't just making stuff up?" Kari said, gesturing towards Rashmi.

Griffith frowned. "What is it they plan to do?" She growled softly.

Rashmi shivered, and regained her composure. The Redeemer...How horrid. "I would read your mind, but then, there's nothing to see." Rashmi replied to Kari, eyes still closed in concentration. She then focused on Griffith's question.

"Ha. You couldn't read my mind at all, even if you tried!" Kari snickered.

"We've already established that your head is empty," Logan said, "let's get back to the task at hand."
