"Companions." Minerva stated and looked at all of them, smiling. "It must be nice to have a lifelong friend." Minerva stated and came over to the sea serphant eggs and admired then before her smile turned to a said frown. "Yet witches and seekers never die of old age, in fact witches themselves don't age after about 16-18. Other than the various species of Fiend Beasts and maybe some dragon species, I do not know of a companion who could live the life of a witch, especially one who lives primarily on land." Minerva stated. Before Princess Vilerana, Minerva let loose of her disguise a bit. She made it less of a Fish person like Vilerana's mer people species and more of a standard mermaid. Minerva was showing Vilerana what she looked like a bit on land with her peachy slight pale skin, blood red crimson hair and emerald green eyes. The fin was green which small hints of gold. Minerva then shifted back to the more fish like appearance she had before. "Thank you for showing me this magnificent place, it must be a big honour to grow up with such a wonderful friend. I would like to know who and what is your companion Princess."

Minerva

"You will meet Ulhr when we go to the palace, I would not want to spoil the surprise." Vilerana said fondly playing with one of the small squid creatures. "They like you." She remarked, the squid changed its color to match Vilerana's and disguised itself amongst her scales.

"Aww, I like them to!" Minerva stated and played with the squid fondly for a moment. She wondered about the Sea Serphants and wondered if they could live on land to or strictly sea. It must be nice growing with a companion and living with them for the rest of days, a friend. She then nodded at Vilerana, "Thank you for showing me, Princess." Minerva spoke. Minerva wondered if it was fair for one witch to have a forever companion while many others didn't unless they had each other.

"Unless there is something specific you would like to do, I would like to head to the palace now." Vilerana said to Minerva, the squid swimming off into the gloom.

"I would enjoy accompanying you there, Princess." Minerva spoke going to follow the Princess.

Vilerana happily led Minerva up to the highest point in the entire city, though Minerva could see the palace long before she reached it. To say it was massive was an understatement, the building was several times the size of the academy which was a fortress its own right. The entire palace was hand carved from the stone that it was built from, each brick telling a story and glowing with a faint luminescence. Once they reached the summit, Minerva could see an absolutely massive sea dragon resting in the court yard, it perked up at their approach, he also glowed with a faint aura, though it was one of divinity, not simple glowing. "Ulhr! ULHR!" Vilerana called out happily, the large beast began to swim for them. "That's him." She said simply.

"He, the palace, and this very city are magnificent, radiant!" Minerva spoke almost squealing seeing the magical creature.

Minerva

The great sea dragon lowered his head for Minerva to bush him, but it was clear his heart belonged solely to Vilerana. "He doesn't normally acknowledge other people, feel honored." She said nuzzling Ulhr.

Minerva smiled and brushed the Sea Dragon. She wondered if a Sea Dragon could live a little on land. She would even build by the sea if that were the case but the school was a bit away. She wondered if she was worthy for a sea dragon friend herself, they must live a long time at least but a bond like that...would hurt if the sea dragon passed. "He is beautiful and I'm honoured to stroke him. I'm glad he has found someone to forever care for in love in you." Minerva spoke honestly. She sighed a bit and remembered a pet dog, well the family's dog, she had had back in her happier days in childhood before all the drama.

Minerva

"You must be wondering why an immortal sea dragon would bond with a mortal." Vilerana said hugging Ulhr but looking back at Minerva, her eyes glowing in the gloom.

"Sea dragons are immortal? Sea Serpents too? And would you tell me the story?" Minerva asked.

Minerva

"All dragonkin are immortal, they can only be killed by battle, starvation... or heartbreak." Vilerana said to Minerva sadly rubbing Ulhr's snout.

"Anyone can die of heartbreak. Without love...one can easily loose one's own mind then die. Those in love who experienced it to their fullest to suddenly find themselves without it usually due to tragedy tend to die to." Minerva removed her hand and thought of Larza. Minerva had come to care for Larza more than a friend especially for the night they shared.

Minerva

"That is what makes Ulhr's story so tragic, because unlike him I will age and die and we are joined heart and soul. Most dragonkin are capable of this, but the fact that my people can bond in such a way makes this particularly special." Vilerana said to Minerva.

"Princess with both yours and Ulhr's permission, I can take care of him when your time comes. Like him I can't die unless from battle, head chopped off and I think burnt at stake yet I can summon and create water so that might not be an option of death for me." Minerva spoke. She had seen human villages change and many people change, especially after she gained the priledge to leave the castle grounds without seeker escort.

Minerva

Vilerana shook her head. "Ulhr will die when I pass, our very souls are connected, and he is my betrothed." Vilerana said to Minerva.

"Oh, my apologies princess. I didn't realize the Mer people could breed with the sea creatures here including dragons. In that case I will fondly remember the both of you. But please, tell me something, do the merpeople live longer than humans?" Minerva asked, unaccustomed to this culture shock.

Minerva

"Well most Merpeople live to one hundred years easily, as opposed to humans who rarely make it past seventy. Some of us reach the ages of a few centuries but that is quite rare. Half-dragon mer people tend to live half a millenia on average." Vilerana said to Minerva.

Minerva then decided to ask a question. "Can humans, more specificially witch humans, breed with dragons?" Minerva asked, "Like your people can?"

Minerva

"Humans and witches can in fact, however it is rare and most of the children are stillborn. But fiends and fadesti cannot, this is due to both races already being innately magical to the point that their bodies cannot handle the overwhelming power of a wyrm." Vilerana said. "Though finding a dragon who will mate with a mortal is rare at all." She said.

"Well I am happy for you." Minerva spoke this honestly. With Larza, Minerva could never had a child by any normal means and the two of them, well at least to minerva, weren't the type to go to men. At least the Princess was happy.

Batari's smile slowly turned to a look a sadness as she saw the village's true state. Even though she knew nothing of the people that once lived here, she felt sorry for them. Her original duty no longer her top concern, Batari decided to take a closer inspection at one of the dilapidated buildings.

The buildings looked like they had been blown away by a massive blast, in the center of the village there was a small indention like a crater. She would have to move the ice and snow to get a better look.

Vilerana

The mermaid smiled and began swimming down towards the courtyard of the palace. "Mother wants to meet you." She said as she led Minerva down.

Septhuis was glad that the realms would not fall apart but did not look forward to taking a life in order to save more. He looked at Larza and asked "Larza,what would you like me to do?"

Minerva nodded and followed after Vilerana. She was interested in meeting the queen as well.
