Not listening to Damon's command, Kephale took out his mystic bow and fired at the second Manticore.
"Tell me what to do...Yeah right," Thought Kephale

"No, Abraxas! You are not yet ready!"

"I am..."

"Bow and pray, my hatchling."

"I...can't..."

"Very well...Your choices are not mine to make. Use this wisdom that I have granted you, my dearest hatchling."

"I will, my Lord. I will." He spun around and around, finally letting go of the large, beautiful blade of gold. It soared through the air in a perfect form.

Ajax was surprised"a priest that can handle a blade..and with such good form...most curious"

Hector began to run calmly, and eventually went into an all out sprint and jumped. He raised his blade and stabbed downwards at the first manticore's neck, landed, and continued to the second. He ran at it and slid, stabbing up and to the side as he passed to the right of it.

Aias readied his bow, only to pull it away as Abraxas jumped into the air. He ran to his right, trying to get around the group for a clear shot.

Damon casts a shockbite spell at M1, (25 v 15) which sinks through the manticore's shell, doing 10 pts damage (epic pwnage, d00d!).

Astraea casts drain life at M1, (24 v 10), which engulfs the manticore and drains 10 HP from it (Oh ya!).

Kephale shoots with his mystical bow at M2, (36 v 17) which penetrates the manticore's shell and does 17 pts damage (bloody hell!).

Er...Abraxas does a whirlwind dance (I jest, I jest) and attacks M1 with his sword, (15 v 10) dealing 5 pts damage and killing it ( ).

Hector [is going to have to attack M2 and 3 instead] attacks M2 (27 v 9), dealing 18 pts damage, and deals a glancing blow to M3 (16 v 10), 6 pts damage.

Alexis attacks M2 with her twin tantos, (14 v 7) dealing 7 pts damage.

M1 = DEAD

Hector got up behind the two manticores, and attacked again. Dodging a blow from the manticore and stabbing towards it's chest. He ducked and ran for the other manticore. He jumped, and lunged at it stabbing it with his sword.

And...Kephale will just keep attacking the second Manticore.

Aias cleared the group and began littering arrows into the direction of the Manticore.

Abraxas quickly approached the first manticore, and unsheathed his blade from the creature's head.

"You're welcome..."

"I give thanks to you for your unbelievable aid. Do grant your gifts to me once more, my Owl Father."

He casted his Shadow Cloak spell upon himself and snuck towards the third beast.

'Now concentrate all fire on the second one! We want to take these things down as fast as possible!' Damon yelled, pointing at the second Manticore.

'Eat electrical death monsters!' He then shot another Shockbite spell, this time at Manticore #2.

Out of magicka, Astraea took out her tanto, preparing to strike the second manticore if it survived Damon's attack.

Deimos drew his weapon and added his fight too the second maticore.

Hold on a second - M2 is dead! Oops, I slightly forgot that part. So...
Hector attacks M3 (14 v 7), but only deals a glancing blow ( 7 pts damage, ooh, losing our touch are we).
Kephale finishes off the manticore, (30 v 15) dealing 15 pts damage with his arrow (niceeee).


Did I mention there were baby manticores? See the map. You can adopt one if you like.

Astraea's face lit up when she saw the baby manticores. "Aww, look at the little manticores, so much cuter than the big ones!" she cooed. "Can I keep one? Please?" Then, as if completely unimpressed with what she just said she glared at the rest of the group and said: "Well we don't want them to die, do we? They didn't exactly try to bite us."

'Well, that was fun, wasn't it?' Damon said, walking over to one of the Manticore bodies, and sawing off a few spikes from its tail with his tanto, and put them in his robe. He then walked over to Astraea.

'I'd like to point out that these are wild, murderous creatures, and considering I'm pretty sure we just killed it's parents right in front of them, I doubt they will be happy about that. Still...' Damon thought for a moment before leaning down next to one of the Manticore babies and the saying '...It would be a very big challenge to raise one of them, and it would probably take years to fully tame them. I think I could use a challenge... Eh, what the hell, I'm in.' He then lightly petted one of them, steering clear of its mouth, in case it had any teeth.

One little manticore bared its teeth, but accidentally tumbled out of the nest. It let out a high pitched mewl of approval when Astraea picked it up.

"I think I'll take that little fellow and raise him," Alexis cooed happily, pointing to a manticore cub that was looking rather nonchalantly around. "They seem fairly friendly."

"Have all of you forgotten what we are here for? We did not come to take these beasts as pets. We came for Olympus!" Hector yelled at the others, and walked forward past the babies and the rest of the group. "These will be nothing but a burden to our journey, I highly doubt the gods will be happy to see us. Or them."

'You do realise that you just gave me another reason to raise one of these things, don't you?' Damon said as he picked one up.

'Besides, if they grow quickly, we have awesome pets that will help us in our future fights! The fact that it annoys you only sweetens the deal.'

"I agree. Anyway, these little cubs will grow into big manticores soon enough, I hear they grow fast. They'll be invaluable as supplementary ranged attackers."

Hector grumbled, "Looks like I'm outnumbered. Fine." He turned back at the group. "Now then, onward to Olympus?"
