Abraxas smiled at the little competition, but said nothing. A clean gust of wind finally reached his senses, and he enjoyed it. Taking a deep breath, he walked away from the group, stopping at a small hill that overlooked a large area of plague-torn Greece. He dropped his scrolls and sat into the grass, balancing his sword in front of him and staring at his reflection within its shine.

"Oh great, instead of a normal talking person we got a mute horse hybrid," Alexis said sarcastically. She stood up and picked up her tantos. "I'm going to take a look around." She stalked off after an annoyed look back.

What do you have against horse people? (kidding of course)

When Kephale saw Abraxas alone with his scrolls, he stopped running and walked over by him. When he got there, he sat down by him, and asked,
"How are you?"

Abraxas looked at the grasses below him, recieving a few terrible flashbacks seconds later. "I'm..." he cleared his throat. "I'm not bad. You?"

"Been better," Kephale replied. He then added, "Surprised to hear my speak?"

"Aye. Quite suprised..."

He looked into the sky, and was shocked to see what rested within his view. It was a large, black owl. "Do you see that!?" he said to Kephale with a sudden boost of energy. "An owl! What a blessed sight!" He then said a very short prayer in the strange language. "Look at its beauty! Wondrous!!!"

"Ah yes, quite a wonderful sight," Kephale replied, kind of confused. "I have a question for you if you don't mind. Earlier today, you sounded as if you were mocking the Olympians. Do you not worship them, or fear their power?"

Abraxas sighed. "...You know, friend...I was once much like you - young, athletic...I was unbelievably strong, and I had been worshipped by the people of my village since the day I could walk. I had a wife...she was so beautiful! Long, god-like hair of black with eyes so full of life and joy! Her voice was so calming. I had fallen in love with her at a very young age. I had a daughter as well. Six years old - looked just like her mother." the old man smiled with a bit of laughter. "All of the little boys at her age had little crushes on her." he twirled the sword a bit. "...One day, we traveled together as a family, seeking 'adventure', as my little daughter had called it. I was so young...so foolish! We were...we...we were right here - on this exact location. The centaurs came down upon us from every location! My wife..." A tear ran from his eye. "My daughter...they...right in front of me!!! And I cried out to the Olympian gods for aid! And what I heard was booming laughter from every voice of every god of this mountain!" At this point, Abraxas was sobbing. "But aid was recieved, not from your gods. An owl as white as snow appeared from the rains with this golden blade within its hands. And with this blade I slew the centaurs - every damn one of them! And a voice rang within my mind, introducing itself as 'Maxelas', another god who rested in a throne of wisdom, who opposed the ways of the Olympian gods. And so I gave him thanks, and promised him my worthy service."

He looked at Kephale. "To answer your question - I would enjoy the sight of every Olympian god burning in the deepest pits of Hades. I do not fear their power, nor worship them. I show them some respect, but I shall never grant them the blessing of fear...EVER!"

Kephale fell silent for a moment before saying,
"I am sorry for your lost. I can't even imagine loosing a family member like that, let alone my own child...Please, tell me of this Owl God of yours. Maxelas,"

Just as Abraxas was about to speak, a cry rang out. There was a sound of a roar, and then another yell, and a thump, and a groan. Alexis burst through the shrubbery and stood panting.

"Looks like we've got some manticore trouble, guys!"

Kephale quickly ran over to Alexis, bow in hand.
"Where is it?" He quickly asked.

Abraxas stood quickly. "GO!!!" he shouted at the owl. "GO!!! GET OUT OF HERE!!!"

The owl did as "told" and quickly flew away. Abraxas took hold of his blade and ran as quickly as an old man could to Alexis. "Where is this trouble!?" he said.

"Stand aside, fools. How many of you have killed a manticore before? None of you? That's what I guessed. Then by my hand shall it die." He said and unsheathed his blade, and stepped forward. "Come then, beast. Are you afraid to face me?" Hector stood with his eyes closed, his head bowed, and his sword arm resting at his side, sword in hand.

"Hold, Hector of Sparta..." Abraxas unsheathed the golden blade. It was beautiful, nearly burning with god-like energy. It had many inscriptions on the blade. "...You are not the only hero who stands amoung us. For I have slain these beasts before." He stood in a very odd form, with the blade held above his head, his left arm extended in front of him, and his legs spread firmly upon the ground.

Aias spun around, startled. He quickly ran up to the group and unsheathed his bow, preferring to attack such a beast from range.

"Hmph. Well, I suppose it couldn't hurt. Just do us all a favor and don't make any mistakes." He said and continued waiting for the beast.

Kephale was angered from Hector's ignorance. At least he could use the anger for good...From a certain point of view. He drew his dagger and stood beside Abraxas, ready to fight the beast.

Astraea took one look at the manticore and decided that Kephale and Abraxas were more than welcome to it, so she stood aside as much as possible.

'Oh, a Manticore, I'm so scared, hold me.' Damon said sarcastically, twirling his dagger in one hand, and his tanto in the other. He then turned to the others and said:

'Okay children, here's the plan: Astraea and I will launch Poisonbite and Drain Blood/life at it, and you, owl man, fire God's bite at it, while you two with the bows attack from range. If it still stands, you 3 meatheads can go in for the kill. If anyone is hurt, Deimos or Astraea will heal you. Any questions?' He then yawned after he was finished, looking slightly sleepy.

Deimos nodded at Damon but drew his weapon non the less.
He edged backwards watching the group and seeing where he could lend his weight.

"That sounds about right," Atstraea said, getting ready to cast her spell at the beast.

"There's more than one," Alexis said in a low tone as two more manticores thundered in. The one standing in front of them launched its tail spikes, where they landed dangerously close to Hector. He jumped back just in time.

"These guys shouldn't be much trouble, but just remember, those spikes hurt!" Alexis ran towards the first manticore and unsheathed her twin blades.

All right, everyone post their attacks. The manticores each have 25 HP.

'Stick to the plan! Concentrate all fire on the first Manticore!' He pointed at it, before quickly letting off a Shockbite spell in it's direction.

'Unless you plan to go into melee, keep your distance! Those spikes can be poisonous! I do not want to see anyone trying to be a hero! I will make you drink a bottle of Hydra poison if you even try it!'

Spoiler:
And... Now he's some sort of bad$@@ commander....

Heeding Damon's advice, Astraea hurled a drain life spell in the direction of the first manticore.
