Clara relaxed and took a deep breath. Moving into a meditation position, she began to read from one of the scrolls as she held her hand up. A purple aura gathered around the ring, and she felt the magic from it slowly slipping into her. Knowing that speed was of the essence, she quickly grabbed another scroll and read through it. The aura changed to a reddish blaze, and the ring suddenly increased in weight. This was a bad side effect of dispelling. She cursed herself for her bad scrollcraft, and quickly reached for her final scroll before the rong took her finger off. Reading through the text very quickly, she began feeling magicka creeping back into her body, and she immediately focused it all on the ring. It dropped off her finger, light as a ring should be, and completely devoit of any enchantment other than the one she added to fool Nastaren into believing it was being worn. Clara could feel the energy crawling back into her. And it felt good to be powerful once again.

Raletus bolted through the doors to the boys' dorm, pushing Kylar out of his way, to find Samuel and Dro-virr in an...odd state. They looked extremely sick. But they were alive. He quickly looked back to see if the teachers had gained on him. Nobody was there. "Alright...Alright....You guys are alive! That's..." he had been running without stopping for a very long time. He was out of breath. "That's just great....It's just bloody awesome.....What happened to you two?" he asked Samuel and Dro-virr with his hands on his knees, catching his breath.

"Where could they be!?" Samuel thought running through the school looking for someone. Just as he was about to pass it, he realized where they were. "The dormitories!" he said aloud. He quickly ran and searched all of the rooms. After a few attempts, he found his way to Samuel's and Dro-Virr's room. He was still a bit tired from loosing all of his magicka in a small amount of time. He then took a look at Samuel and Dro-Virr. They were alive, kind of, and looked very sick. "I took care of the teachers, but they could be here any moment, so let's hurry up here, and find Clara.

Kylar had noticed the state of panic in Samuel and Raletus' faces, and instinctively knew there was more to their rush than concern for their friends. "Who're after you? Who could have followed you here?! If you don't tell me I can't help, what can I do to help?"

"Teachers. A lot of angry teachers. Try to find and stall them please, somehow. I only have the magicka left in me, I ran out of potions, so I can't help much. Oh, and if you see her, please get Clara over here," Samuel answered, nervously.

"Gotcha, I'll see what I can do. Don't worry about magicka I'm still running hot, and Samuel? Try not to draw much attention here while I'm gone. I don't wan them coming back here after I lose them." "If I lose them..." Kylar thought to himself. He cast an invisibility spell, combined with a speed and agility fortification, and bounded down the stairs taking 8 steps at a time, towards the shout and screams of the teachers. "This is gonna be fun."

"Damnit! My stupid dreams!" Raletus said, having almost completely grasped his full breath. "We wouldn't be in all of this trouble if I hadn't had that dream! No, no, no! Keep Clara away from here. She doesn't have a little bounty on her head right now. Dude..." Raletus looked at his fist, remembering what he had done in the detention room. At the time, he thought it was a good idea. Now he knew that it was just stupid. "I punched a teacher in the face! If they catch me, I'm smoked! And if I keep running, I'll have the whole administration on my ass!" He thought for a moment. What would his adult friends in Anvil do in this situation? At this point, he had no idea. They probably wouldn't be stupid enough to get themselves in this much trouble. Raletus looked at Samuel. "We've gotta hide. We're both guilty of assault! We could have trouble with the damn guards if they catch us! I say we hide around the school. When night comes, we'll check on these guys, and then go get Clara! We'll need her magic to help us out of all of this trouble." He grinned, just like he had this morning. "Heh...plus I've gotta make another attempt to charm her with my gifts."

Raletus looked down the hallway, where he knew Kylar was headed down with an invisibility spell cast over him. "Come on!" he said to samuel. "Let's go!" He began running down the hallway. The restrooms would be a good hiding spot to start off with.

Clara rushed down the stairs along with the other girls to investigate the racket. She laughed as she thought how Raletus would love to be there to see them all in their nightwear. But she let the other girls move on, and looked around on her own. Making the most of her restored magicka, she used a variety of spells to try and track anyone that could have been the cause of it. She noticed a lot of life signals moving quickly both above and beneath her. Something odd was happening, and she needed to get there quickly. The stairs were across the corridor and she felt like breaking the rules, so she instead simply slowfell out of the window into the floor beneath her. Sprinting up to the door where the life signals were coming from, she burst in and found the morning detention class all looking up at her.

I am a shadow, I lurk in the night and creep along the rafters. I slide under your doors and haunt your dreams. I am a bringer of death, pain, and misery. I will hunt you down.

And destroy you.

The White Gold Tower
Xan looked up as he heard a whisper, and then the rustle of papers. The emperor's bed was warm, but he could tell that it was cold. Unusually cold. Outside the window, a thick fog was gathering, and many shadows seemed to dance across the floor of his suite. He begun to shiver as his window was whipped open by a blast of icy wind. It ripped through the room like a blade through flesh, messing up the bedspreads and sending papers flying about the room. The silhouette of a figure could be seen at the door, it was black as night and stood completely still, examining the emperor, seeming to breathe in his fear. It began to walk slowly towards Xan. It got closer, until it was right above him. Xan opened his mouth to let out a scream, and with this, the shadow seemingly flew...into him. It went inside Xan, taking over his soul, taking over his very being. Xan's breath grew icy cold, and frost gathered where it hit. Xan, or what was left of him, stood up as the door to his suite opened and a guard rushed in. The possessed Xan raised his hand and the guard was gone, simply dust to be blown about by the wind. Xan walked to window and laughed, a deep, demonic rasp came out, and he leapt out the window, flying with wind...north. To Skyrim.

As much as he didn't want him to be, Raletus was right. They had to hide, or they could be arrested for a long time. Samuel followed him down the hallway, towards to restrooms. "Hey, sooner or later I'll have to make more potions. I can't do much without magicka," Samuel told Raletus while they ran.

“Ugh! You Bretons and your damn magicka!” Raletus thought for a minute as he ran. “The day’s over. All of the teachers…well, except for the ones trying to catch us right now, are in the teachers’ lounge. We could probably break into the classroom. Come on!”

He made a turn for the left hallway, where the Alchemy classroom was. Raletus charged against the door. It didn’t budge. “Damn!” he shouted. “It’s locked!” He knelt down in front of the nearby window where the light of the moon and stars shined in. He searched through his small leather sack he kept at his belt. “Aha!” he said with a smile. He pulled out a lockpick. He then hurried to the door. It was open within half of a second. No thief was better at lock picking than Raletus. He opened the door. “Now go in, make your magical beverage, and let’s get the hell outa here!” Raletus ran into the room and began shifting through the teacher’s desk. The room was dark. Finally, he found a torch. Lighting the torch, he held it high so that Samuel could see.

Kylar hit the bottom step softly, looking around tentatively for the mob of teachers that could home into view at any minute. He heard a shout from one of the corridor routes and set off like the wind. There were more teachers than he had expected, now the amount was getting closer to a dozen, including a supervisor with a bloody face. "Damn Raletus why can't you be subtle when it matters?", he then saw the 3 nord destruction teachers flanking him. "Oh hindsight is a wonderful thing..." he cynically added. Quickly, Kylar had to think of a solution on his feet, literally, he was still running so fast the candles flickered in his wake, but so fragile was his invisibility that even to talk to loudly would break the spell. "How then do I distract or at least slow down these damned teachers?" thought Kylar, summing up the ultimate question his train of thought rose. "I've got it." he whispered under his breath. The corridor straightened and the teachers almost formed a wall of retribution such was their number. Kylar increased his speed, the wind tore at his eyes and made them tearful, but he couldn't clear them for fear that a split second would be all it took for concentration to lapse and send him crashing into the teacher wall. Crap, the teachers. Kylar looked up to see he was about a metre from the supervisor, and jumped frantically. Finesse didn't matter, he was invisible. He grabbed hold of a rafter beam and spun up to his feet to face down the path he had come down, and saw what he had done. The teachers were in a stunned state, wide-eyed and wonderous, not even conscious enough to think of casting any spells to aid them. The speed had a purpose, standard speed made a candle flicker, high speed blew them out in his wake. Every candle in the hallway, every lantern, every torch, was now a smoking ruin. The only light that would issue forth was the occasional spark from the lanterns, which had moderate protection from the storm that lay in Kylar's wake. The storm seemed to have a similar effect on the teachers. Although physically the only damage they suffered was to their hairstyles, psycologically seemed different. They stood shocked, rivetted to the spot, and shivering. The shivering may have just been Kylar's own vision, as the exersion had taken much more out of him than anticipated. Again. "Why do I never learn?" Kylar regretted, and used his last reserves of magicka to get to the restrooms, before vomiting, and then locking himself in a cubicle in time to pass out.

Clara looked around at the detention group. Normally those in detention weren't very bright, but these were simply staring up on her, with blank expressions and drooling mouths. It was as if they had been brainwashed. Then she noticed the supervisor. Nastaren.
"Well well well Miss Vakerian," the Altmer sneered, "it seems no amount of cursed items can shackle you for long. Unfortunately the normal supervisor has been given a quick break, seeing as your friend Raletus punched him. And I'm well known for keeping people under control. Class dismissed." The boys all stood up and marched out of the room in perfect tempo with each other.
"Now then, it seems havoc has broken out among the classes. Most teachers would be nervous, but I relish it. It gives me a reason to... control rogue students. My only obstacle are those with too much will, such as yourself. So I suppose it's good that nobody will care if you go missing, and to be honest, I've always wanted to kill you." With that' she threw a bolt of energy at Clara and sent her flying towards the window.
"You don't have a hope of beating me!" Clara shouted as she gripped the window at the last second. It was a bluff. She was a skilled mage, but to take down a professor of magic? It was suicide. Nonetheless, she began throwing magic at the teacher, but simply could not get past her magical barriers.
"You know you cannot beat me," Nastaren calmly replied, "You could barely stand up in this room earlier. And now I have absorbed it. We shall see what damage it does to you when concentrated by a master of magic!"
Clara threw up a barrier just before a lightning bolt hit. She could keep the shield up for now, but she'd have to give out eventually. She moved around the corridor, backing away from the professor and her deadly spells. She could feel the heat from the fireballs, and sensed Nastaren trying to overwhelm and possess her mind. She needed help, and fast.

"Look, it's not my fault I can't regain magicka on my own," Samuel said, as he and Raletus entered the dark room. He was about to cast night-eye on himself when Raletus lit a torch so they could see. Samuel quickly went about the room gathering what he needed. Normally, students where allowed only novice equipment, but since they were alone, and had some time thanks to Kylar (hopefully) Samuel grabbed the teachers master alchemy equipment and got to work. Luckily potions were very light, so Samuel made about twenty, which he gently placed in his leather bag.
"Okay, let's go. No telling how much time we have," Samuel said leaving the room.

Kylar came round to consciousness reluctantly, and sitting on a toilet. "What the- oh... now I remember... gods! How long have I been out?!" Kylar lept off of the porcelain and made for the corridor where he'd been a few minutes ago? days? hours? It remained unsure, although a good indicator was the state he found the hallway in. Many of the teachers had reacted to the speed as he did, and fainted on the spot after the shock. Those that hadn't were encumbered by having to take the other teachers out of the hallway to recover, at any rate, Raletus and Samuel weren't top priority any longer, and that would have to be good enough for now. It could buy them a day, or just a few hours. A day seemed more likely, the supervisor, the tip of the teachers' spear, had passed out, and without him the teachers were less incited to go after Raletus and Samuel. "A job well done, even though I came out a little worse for wear..." Kylar muttered, walking away from the corner from which he had been observing the teachers. The torches and candles were still unlit, he'd been out for minutes, maybe one hour. "Walk it off..." he told himself, as he made back down to the restroom to soak his head in the sink.

Desperate to escape, Clara jumped out of the window and flew up onto the roof. A small lightning bolt hit her as she escaped, and it seared through her body, filling her with incredible pain. But it showed Nastaren was running low on magic, meaning she wouldn't be able to follow. Clara took advantage of this moment to collect her thoughts. What the hell was Nastaren thinking? There was no way she could get away with killing a student. As her magicka supply fully replenished itself, she prepared to move down into the school. She needed to find help, in case Nastaren showed up again. And right now, she needed somebody to take comfort in.

Raletus walked out with the torch. It was hard to see in the dark. "Dude..." he stopped. "What in Oblivion was that?" It sounded like...footsteps on the roof. "Let's check it out! The teachers haven't got their hands on us yet! That means Kylar held them off for a bit! We have enough time!"

"We don't have time for this...Okay, we do but he have more important things to do, like hide and make a plan. Not go on top of a roof to investigate footsteps," Samuel said. He patiently waited for a response, but none came. Samuel sighed, then said. "Fine, but let's at least hurry up. No saying how much time we have. If any,"

"How often to you hear footsteps on the roof? I swear, this is the strangest twenty-four hours that has ever passed in my life." Raletus approached the nearest ladder. It led all the way to the ceiling...which was high. "This isn't the safest way up, but it's the quickest. Come on. Let's go." Raletus scurried up the ladder with the speed of a rat. He was good at climbing stuff. However, in his arrogance, he didn't bother to look up as he reached the top and bumped his head on the locked trap door.

"Mother of Akotosh!" he said, taking one hand off of the ladder to rub his head. He began shifting through his small sack again. His cape was getting in his way. Finally, he found the lockpick. He was pretty damn lucky the door was locked from the inside. With the lock picked, he held the pick in his mouth and pushed the door open. The cold and harshness of Skyriim's weather rushed through his face. He climbed out onto the roof and looked into the direction where he had thought he heared the footsteps. He saw the figure of a girl. By the way she was moving, she looked like she was wounded, or at least in great pain. He squinted. "What the...Is that Clara!? Is she on skooma!? She'll get killed on this damn roof! It's steep as hell!"

He cupped his hands in front of his face. "Clara!!! Over here! Are you alright!?" He looked back to Samuel. "Let's go. Something tells me that there's a story behind her climbing onto the roof..."

He began running across the roof, being nimble and quick like a thief. He hoped Samuel was following. With this type of harsh weather, there was no telling what could happen on these steep roofs.
