Spellcasting/mouse control bug?

Tue Jan 01, 2019 4:53 am

I've just installed Daggerfall from the UESPwiki, and of course, I like to play with the mouse in view mode. I've noticed a problem however when I use spells, particularly if they're not recall. And I haven't found anything that has ever addressed this issue or anything similar.

When I open up the spell menu and use a spell, like waterbreathing, the spell is cast, but then a cursor is on my screen, even though I didn't set the mouse control to cursor mode. I generally can't get out of it unless I load up an old save.

Also, I say that it doesn't happen when I use the recall spell. To be more accurate, it doesn't happen if I proceed with a delicate operation involving:

- Switching to cursor mode
- Opening the spell menu and making the first cast
- Switching back to view mode and praying

The game isn't impossible to play because of this, but it's going to be hours of unneeded tedium should I have the misfortune of generating a dungeon with an underwater section and being unable to continue because casting waterbreathing screws up my interface.

Can anyone help me solve this?/has there been a discussion about this issue I haven't dug deep enough for, yet?

View mode has a key that toggles the cursor. Default is "Enter" :)

But thanks! Fixed it.
