I recently started a Daggerfall playthrough using the brand new updated version of Boilerplate's build after leaving Privateers Hold and resting up my first stop was the Gothway Gardens Mages Guild were I proceeded to make some necessary spells. For example I made Teleport,Water Breathing,Water Walking,Levitate, and Open Spell.
But there a couple spells I want to pick up but I don't what custom parameters to give them that would make them good and cost effective but also good leveling the spells I need help with are

Restore Health
Spell Reflection
Spell Absorbtion
Spell Resistance
Elemental Resistance
Shield

What would consider a good custom version of these spell? Also are they're any other spells you recommend I pick up.

Addendum
By Parameters I mean like Magnitude,Chance and Duration
Quick Question:I know that spells scale to your level and you can set by how much in the spell maker. But do they have to be already made to scale or will I gain the benefits of a spell getting better according the scaling I set in the spell maker to my current level?

I am at currently Level 11 and I really need to now what would be a good custom spell for those spell types so I can start scaling them if they don't scale automatically when I buy them, especially Spell Reflection,Spell Resistance and Shield.I don't want to keep playing and level up without them and screwing myself once I really need them to survive like when I start to encounter enemies like the Vampire Ancients,Liches and the like.I need spells that will won't be weak and not work most of time nor too powerful out the gate to the point I will never be able to cast them.

Side Question
What would be a good enchanted weapon to get, same goes for armor and items, I am Long Blade User,I currently got a mundane Daedric Longsword.(What a lucky find that was.)

I'm not a very experienced player but when using the Spell Maker I've always tried to balance magicka cost and spell effect(s). E.g. you want your healing spell to restore a decent amount of health but not drain your entire magicka supply in one go.

IIRC I've read somewhere (maybe here in the Wiki) that a good way to make a custom spell is to give minimal "basic" effect values (which do not change when the character levels up) and maximise the values which are added when the character levels up.

Here are some good articles on making spells in the Wiki:
http://uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:Spell_Maker
http://uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:Levelin ... ls_to_Make

You can always refer to the stats of pre-made spells in the game, accessible (for each school of magic) from this page:

The spell effect increases should apply depending on your current character level. That is, if you're level 11 and the spell effect value increases by x for each character level, you should have a spell effect of basic value + 11x.

That helped a lot, thank you.It really helped a lot I beat the game last night and my spell resistance spell tacked on top of the natural spell resistance Breton's made my character practically immortal against monsters that always killed my first character that I beat the game with. But then again back then I didn't know of the great power of Spell Resistance/Reflection spells. The same goes for Arena and Elemental resist potions,I did know about them in my first playthrough but they were invaluable in my second and once they became necessary I already had more than enough gold to buy 99 of the them.
