So, I'm a little confused. According to UESP, Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon all take place during 427, but IGN, the Elder Scrolls Wiki, and a timeline website I cannot remember the name of all say Morrowind is in 427, Tribunal is 428 and Bloodmoon is 429. Can anyone help me here?

I'm fairly certain that the only dates given are 427. Like.... 95% sure. They are wrong, or just adding years based off of the release dates of the expansions or something.

Yes, they are wrong. You can go do the quests in Tribunal or Bloodmoon the moment you start Morrowind (not easily, but it is possible). The actual date is 427 since that is the date the game starts. If Bethesda comes out to explicitly say it took place in a different year after the fact, then it would be changed, but until then, ours is more accurate.

In this case, we also have corroboration that Bloodmoon, at least, took place in 3E 427 in The Third Era Timeline. It also confirms that Knights of the Nine in Oblivion took place in 3E 433. While the dates of in game events are subject to change (Daggerfall took over place several in-game years), we have a basis for assuming events took place "circa" the initial game year.

edit- wow, t-t-typos! I've got to stop writing from my phone

Thanks, guys. Knew I could count on you. Special thanks to Minor Edits for getting us an actual lorebook.

I have a question too that relates well with the op. Considering the mixed reports I've see, and my memory is a bit fuzzy, what's the timeline for the actual installments? I understand ESO to be the one set earliest, but what about the rest... Like battlespire and Redguard

According to their game pages Battlespire takes place in 3E, between 389 and 399 and Redguard takes place in 2E 864. But I can't find any in-game sources.

If you're talking about where they are in the timeline, I believe, in order, it's ESO, Redguard, Battlespire, and then the Main Series.

If you're asking when... eh. IDK.

ESO, Redguard, Battlespire/Shadowkey/Arena (Interregnum-era games), Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim.

Arena was likely stretched out over several years in the Interregnum. Your release from prison could've occurred as early as 3E 391, from a lore perspective, and Tharn wasn't defeated until 3E 399.

I thought Arena told you what year it starts.

Arena and Daggerfall are special because time passes quite quickly in-game due to the travel system. I believe the "official" period for Arena was first defined in The Daggerfall Chronicles.
